Which lighting config (sample mockup pics)

Here is a picture of my potential grow area with 2 possible configurations:




Which option do you guys think is better? From what I've considered, the T5 fluoro's actually actually seem to beat the HPS lights! This is also what the local hydro store owner recommended as well (heat's an issue as we are in the desert) I would really like a 2nd opinion though...

Id definitely have to go with the first with some nice fans to air cool the hoods

T5's work, for vegging for sure - but they will not beat an HID light for power. A fluoro is no comparison to a 1000w HID. Go with the HID's - and get air cooled hoods.

I think it is a great veg idea for the T5's but i to feel that they are not a good option to bloom with. But you will ultimately have to deal with the heat somehow. maybe in a basement (if it is even cooler) you could have beter heat management. Im sure you picked the location already.

concider too that with that size floor plan why not use 600w HPS's instead of the 1000w and you just cut alot of heat out right there.
