Which to use, CFL or flourescent?

I just put my seedling under a regular fluorescent light, which has four 40 watt bulbs at 3000 lumens and 4100k each. The problem is the seedling occupies a small space of the long lamps.

I also have a CFL which I think my plant can use more of it's light since the bulb is compact. That has two 36 watt bulbs at 2900 lumens.

So which should I use?

You don't know how many mistakes you made. Really, you've made a lot. Please, do yourself a favor, read! Plan on spending about $100 for the basic amount of right stuff. Buy a book on CFL growing, or borrow from the public library. And read.

It'll grow under either one but you may want to save the big light for flower or until the plant is bigger and just use half the amount of lights(the smaller one) for now. That would be more efficient, no need to run 160 watts when you could run 72 watts to just start off a seedling.
