White buckets in DWC?

My initial thought is this is counter intuitive for keeping light from roots although I know people grow in white plastic containers. I'm wondering if white buckets would cause any problems for DWC

White buckets let in too much light.. Causes algae growth.. Experienced this..

Thanks for the feedback, I figured this was the case but just wanted to see what people who have experience with it have to say.

If all you have, or can get is white, a quick sand and spray paint fixes the problem.

Yup, I used the blue lowes buckets when I did hydro. They worked nicely and are only like $3/ea you can wrap the outside in white poly film if you’re just trying to reflect light and keep your buckets from heating up to much(only sort of works, if you’re running hid and no chiller it’s not gonna be much help)
