White buds??

I have a few buds from my plants that I noticed were white as can be in the center. It is not from trichomes, it is just white inside. Is this an indicator of anything or is it simply normal? The white ones were toward the bottom. OG Kush. I am not concerned about it since I have gotten them before but I am more curious if it means I did something wrong or not. Got just over 2 lbs from 8 plants on a single 600W light so I at least know I am doing something right.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've been wondering why sometimes certain buds are "white" inside, like they're rotting, but not. At first I used to be worried and thought it was mold. I think it's a symptom of calcium deficiency. It makes more sense when you look at it like this:



Assuming they don't mold, I actually find something about those "white" buds to be pretty good smoke and have considered trying to get it to do that on purpose. Maybe they have less cellulose if it's from a deficiency?

It could just be new plant matter and nothing to worry about, or your lights may be too close to the plant. Plants are green from chlorophyll within their chloroplasts, not cellulose. Plant cell walls are made of cellulose.

try pulling a piece of the bud out where you seen the white, if it comes out easy your getting bud rot

It is definitely not rot... nice solid bud, just white inside. The calcium deficiency sounds like it could be it since I had a calcium deficiency for a bit until I got some money. Finally got them the cal-mag but it might have been too late for some of the smaller buds. It's only on a half dozen or so small ones so even if they were bad, it would be no worries to me. I'm still gonna smoke 'em cause they look very nice under magnification.

At least I don't have to spend $400/month for weed and will have plenty for the Boston Freedom Rally in September.
