White patches on leaves

My old man has a few plants he put in his garden, he sent me this pic and asked me if I could help him figure out what's going on with his plants. He is growing outdoor, garden is organic no fertilizers, he said there it is starting to show up on his tomatoes as well (yes, actual tomatoes) ... Not too much other information I have about it, we don't live very close this is the best pic I could get off him.

Showing up on the tomato fruit or tomato leaves?

Outdoor grow, it's easy to say bugs but I think this is more of a fungi. Pure neem oil can help with bugs or a fungicide to treat it if it's a fungi.

If he gets neem oil, tell him look for cold pressed pure neem oil. Stay away from the shit at lowes that says neem oil extract. Its bullshit marketing and won't work.

Since I've never had to use a fungicide, I'll lean on others for that recommendation.

It looks like based on your photo you have alternating nodes: so a mature plant. Be careful spraying neem during flower as the oil can effect flavors

could also be genetic, as in a beginning variegation... just a guess... if its pests or pathogens, I'd first try to find & identify the culprits, before spraying/buying anything.

if you e.g. rub a spotty leaf at a healthy one, do the spots appear also there, after a few days?
