Who knows what this is?

I personally have not seen it before. I have my suspicions. I have 12 strains going. The clones came from a few master growers, oaksterdam, and local dispensaries. This plant came from the Farmacy in Hollywood but the others in the room will have an influence. These are the only ones that seem to have it. This one is Afgani Master. They are about 5 weeks old from rooting. The room has tons of circulation and room. Each plant could potentially have 12 sq feet but I've got them close since they're small. WTF?

I've seen spider mites before. I've heard about powdery mildew. Boo! I was hoping you wouldn't say that.

I guess it's better than spider mites.
I dunno about that. WPM is systemic. The plant won't get rid of it, so you'll have to watch your buds closely all the way to cure.

Try Serenade. It's a bacterial treatment that eats the mildew, then acts as a preventative. If it shows up again, treat again.

Canni...It does look like PM...some strains are worse than others...

oil sprays with baking soda work, but if they get PM it always comes back. It is airborne and usually on roses. I use a diluted H2O2 if the PM is not that bad, can be sprayed on buds up to day of harvest.

And it is a fungus that grows on the surface...it can cover a plant and weaken/kill it if conditions are right...but I would not consider it to be systemic as it grows on tissue rather than being spread throughout the tissue.

Keep temps under 80.

oh, and ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY better than spider mites!

You said it yourself brother, it always comes back.

I will concede that 'systemic' may not be the technically proper term, but 'permanent' is pretty accurate. The white powdery stuff you see on the leaves is primarily the reproductive organs. The fungus extends into the plant as well and that part remains after treatment. You can keep the spores at bay with alkaline spray treatments, but this only keeps the white stuff off the leaves, it's still in there. Serenade actually consumes the fungus and continues to do so as it regrows, but still doesn't cure the infection.

So I still say it's no better than spider mites.
.

Can.i.buz.... you're that cougar from the other thread ain't ya? You'd think I'm too young, but I'll let ya know you still got it goin on. RAWR!

"Powdery mildews produce mycelium (fungal threads) that grow only on the surface of the plant. They never invade the tissues themselves. The fungi feed by sending haustoria, or root-like structures, into the epidermal (top) cells of the plant. The fungi overwinter on plant debris as cleistothecia or mycelium. In the spring, the cleistothecia produce spores that are moved to susceptible host tissue by splashing raindrops, wind or insects. "

you obviously have not had spider mites:wink:

It's only on two of the Afgani Masters. Should I pull them from the room or is it too late. There's a lot of plants in there. What about a sulfur treatment?

Ya know dude, that might be part right. I do get spider mites somewhat often(once or twice a year) on some of my houseplants. I don't smoke those however, so if I see them I just spray the shit with Raid. Kills them dead and they don't come back. I have never gotten mites on my herb, and maybe I should consider myself lucky for that.

On the other hand, I've gotten WPM a few times and did not succeed in a permanent cure. My understanding is the haustoria survive treatment and this is how it keeps recurring. I'm not sure how these structures extending into the plant doesn't qualify as invading the tissue as well, doesn't it take the food directly from the host cells? I'm not a pathologist, so I may have misunderstood the articles I have read and I'll quit here before I get too far outside my comprehension zone.

Either way, I would relocate the symptomatic clones to limit possibility of spreading.

yeah your big enough and probably not living in it...so just get a burner and you are golden.

Personally I would not throw anything out...but am not the pot queen of LA.

It is in the environment, if you want to grow strains that are susceptible and can get a burner, no problem.

I have a Afgoo kush that PM likes right now, Hijack gets it a little, but not bad...I grow mostly Headband and it is completely resistant.

If you get spider mites...bag up plants, suck out air with vacuum, fill bags with CO2 (careful it's cold), tie up bags for 24hours...all mites and their eggs dead! Works on all stages from seedling to cut buds.

as far as burning sulfur goes, I've had it explained, I've done it to dry fruit, but I have no idea what to do in this situation. Any help is appreciated.

No experience here...I am sure someone will pop on here and give you the low down...I think Fdd uses a a sulfur burner.

FDD is mad at me. He thinks I was trying to send him a crazy file on IM. I was just sending him a video we were talking about and his settings were such that the transfer is automatic. I'm not a Yahoo fan or PC fan so I couldn't explain it to him. I know a master grower in LA that burns it. I'll try to get a hold of him tomorrow. There were only 4 leaves affected. I looked at everything through a loop and burned the leaves that I found. Is this an emergency?

For me no...others will freak...it is in the air...it is in the water...if your plant is susceptible it will get it period. I had a K-train that was so bad I tossed it right next to a headband and the headband did not have a single spot.

Spray it with diluted hydrogen peroxide (Fdd does this also) and it will be gone for a few weeks.

Sorry about your falling out with fadded...

me too. I liked him. We'll figure it out. He just misunderstood the technology. He's a good guy.

I like HP. Use it for a lot of other stuff. I actually thought about looking into it.

I want to meet you
