Yes the wet / dry cycle of soil is key to growth, with large pots you don't get the cycle as frequently. I always noticed the plants grow the most right before the soil is ready for watering.
Indeed , also as root tips finds a pot barrier wall they branch increasing root surface area, if your pot is too large this root branching doesn't occur at the same rate, thus slow growth.Less root surface area, regardless of a dry /wet cycle. Think of it as tipping/topping a plant, its the same for roots but the pot size does it for you. Its about terminating root apical dominance, and its about plant root hormones, but its too much to go into detail here.
Yes and having aggregate mixed in your soil can help with root branching as well, just not too much aggregate lol.
Hell yeah man share it and help other people I simply learned autos don’t need the potting space phenos do assumedly due to the short period of life and to really relax on the feeding
I am sorry you were given that info op...it was bad. Autos have a fast growing taproot, and when that taproot hits bottom, that's about it size growth wide in height. Many believe that giving as deep a medium as possible as soon as possible helps deter this, imo.

I actually did plant this into FF ocean forest considerably how I may have “burned” them bc FF ocean forest is considered a hot soil and I gave a small amount of nutes which were apparently too much
