i have been drawing and drawing .... and drawing ... drawing... and drawing!!! ahhhhhh!!! is it really this hard to be happy with a design layout?!? lol its driving me mad man!!! and just when i think " this is!! i can stop drawing" i find something i dont like orr idk ..... im really just trying to plan out a room that will let me go all the way! something legit and ready to max out all factors of the girls! and im not talking about running 20,000 watts to do 100 plants blah blah blah (like the posts you see "im setting up a 15,000 watt room to do 60 plants harvesting 20 lbs every 2 months, its my first grow and i have 5 patients" .... cmon guys! everyone knows if your setting up a grow that size your not asking how to do it! and if you are asking then your either B.S.ing or about to waste around 20 grand on a room your not atall ready for lol .... anyways back to the meaning of all this! lol.... the space i have to work with is 20'x20'x8'..... for flower im thinking of going with 2 rooms both 8x8 with 6x6 of grow area for 8 plants and around 2,000-2,400 watts per room ... 600 HPS and 400 MH ... maybe 3 600s and 2 400s, or would 2 600s and 1 400 do in my set up? .... so im really just looking for 2nd opinions and other ideas of what will work and what wont!?... if its realistic? and also what do i really need as in equipment for whatever type of grow i decide.. i.e cooling, venting, controls, should i seal with c02 or go with fresh air intake/ exhaust system? i want a grow room thats setup legit! office area, veg bays, im building a cabinet for moms/clones/ seedlings 4x3x7, with the bottom a drawer that pulls out for clones and seedlings and the top part moms.... closets for hanging to dry ... potting table area .. utility sink With RO and area for mixing and feeding, and a trimming room/ hang out room ... i know this seems like alot and over thought out but i wanna do a legit perpetual grow that i can harvest 3-4 times a year maybe every 3-4 months and would like to see around 4 pounds a harvest, i have the space to work with and i have the skills to build whatever i can draw and think of.... i plan to really dive in and spend the rest of my able years doing so .... i will be spending lots of time down there so i want it to be comfortable and fun! id like to have everything ill need to be right there ( done carrying 10 5gallon buckets of water! ) .... i know im talking about some real money with what i want and what im picturing! but as far as anything with constructing the room and building wont have any cost! (material from work lol and labor is me) as far as equipemt thats another story! but im planning a budget of 4,000 total! and i can add other stuff and tweak later on in the coming years but for start up i think 4,000 seems to be a fair and realistic budget! ....4-6 600 HPS, ballast, bulb, hood?? ( or bare? or hood with no glass?) 2-4 400 MH (hoods up higher then 600s) 2-4 T5s , carbon scrubber, inline fans, wall mount fans, dehum, ac??, ect ect..... i will be either doing soiless or coco or 50/50 mix , i want to be able to give them the best grow conditions at all time.... so i guess thats that! any ideas or helpful remarks to aid me in a good layout for what i am trying to plan is all im looking for!

just do all 15 lamps in the room. 5 rows of 3 lamps. For 60 plants use 10 gallon pots in there. Go peat soilless. Roughly about a gallon of water each plant. So 60 gallon res would be great. Watering 3 times a week. Yes co2. Tons of fans moving air. Just make sure you have your team ready for chop and trimming, 4 total people 8-10 hour days. should be done in 5-7 days. And go all 1000's and get a split system.

I agree with above statement. 20x20 is a really sweet space. Why not run 9-12 lights in there? Get it all done in one box. Have small clones ready for next one you can get 3-4 batches a year like your looking for . No way in hell a 4k budget is going to pull it off though. I have a similar size room. Was about 25grand, before electric to setup

I spent 3 months planning/designing my room..and once i got it done..I was changing stuff. Most of it is due to lack of experience. I found once I got it done that there were things that didn't work, or would have be a better setup for my growing style. I wish i just roughed it in and ran for a few months to get an idea of what i actually needed, then i could have reconfigured and got it set up in a way that worked well.

I think I'd do a 10x10 veg/clone/mom area, a 10x10 work area and a 10x20 flower room, split into 2 10x10 sections that get rotated out. I'm planning on pulling somewhere around 1.5lbs under a 600W in a 4x4 area. 4 lbs out of each 10x10 area shouldn't be that difficult, you're looking at 10000 watts just for the flowering area to be optimal.

I'm well over $2500 in a 12x8 room that's split for veg/flower, but that's because I kinda snapped and went overboard. It's all new equipment and materials...everything..wood, wiring, outlets, plastic, vinyl floor, lighting,exhaust,etc,etc. I've had a couple grows go down hill because of bug infestations, due to not having a controlled environment, I was in an open basement. When i built this room my #1 goal was no "contaminated" products and to be like a clean room..sealed with filtered air exchange ( My intake air is filtered down to mold/bacteria level). Anything that wasn't "100% i just ripped the package open new" got a bath in a heavy bleach solution to disinfect it.
