Can anyone tell me why my soil is shrinking? It's starting to move away from the sides of my pots. My plants are 42 day's from germ. They range from 8"- 11". Should they be bigger than that? I'm using real organic fert (urine). Any help/replies are appreciated.:peace::joint::joint::joint:

did u pack your dirt in the pot or just left it loose. If u left it loose its gonna shrink when u water because all the dirt is coming together.

So it's not from my plants being too big for the pots that they're in? Should I transplant to bigger pots? Should they be bigger than that for the time they've been growing?

what size are the pots u have now?transplant when u r ready to flower so you dont have to worry about your plants being rootbound.Your plants look good for there age.

can't tell what size pot your using. It looks close to what I use most the time. agout 2 gal. I like the shrink tells me when the soil is drying out. just water very slow and let your soil soak up the water.

I don't even think that they're 2 gallon pots! I know it say's 8" on the bottom of the pots. I noticed that 1 of my plants was a male because it had a nub on a couple of the nodes. I cut it and tried to flip the pot to see how the roots were. And it looked like the roots weren't all the way through the soil, but there were roots all over the bottom. None of them were coming out of the holes in the bottom of the pot. Is that a sign that I don't need to transplant right away? I know that I'm gonna need bigger pots for flowering, right? How big? My room is only 6' high. Then u gotta take 1' off for the light. And another ft off so the light don't burn the plants. How tall should I let them get b4 I start flowering? I was thinkin about tying them down so I can veg longer. Does that make sense?

Just watered them a little while ago! The soil was bone dry! Last time they got water was on the 6th. I think that I waited too long to water. (More like under watering)

I have a 400 watt mH/Hps conversion kit. I'm using the mH for now. After like 1 wk of flowering I'm gonna switch to the Hps. Definitely want that heavy yield! I topped a few of them already. The 2 that were growing the best I didn't top. I can wait until I'm about to flower to top them, right? Or should I do it now?

Should I transplant and then tie them down? Or tie them down now? Seems like more work if I tie them right now, as opposed to wating till after transplanting!
