will a small watt cfl affect my plants photo period

i have a old armware that i converted into a grow closet. i have two fans in the back, i just started flowering, the catch is that my its in my bedroom and my wife turns on the bedroom light. will the small watt cfl affect the photoperiod the light is about 10 feet way and the fans are against the wall about 10-12inces away if anybody knows anything or had a similar situation please let me know? - may the force be with u-

I had a situation recently where light was leaking through my ducting and either caused a run of hermies or something unknown did. To fix it I painted the inside of the ducting with black paint with crushed black walnuts mixed into the paint. It's an old method telescope enthusiast use. Anyway it's worked pretty well and if your worried I suggest either painting the wall the dresser is against black where the fans are, or run ducting from the fan holes down to the floor with a bend or two as to stop light from leaking it. Hard to say if it will effect the photoperiod though as we don't know how much light is leaking in.

i do have a black sheet hanging directly behind the armware

so the grow area is lightproof then?

no light at all. friend had glowing moon and stars on ceiling and light leaked into grow box through the fan on top and hermied his plants.

Black will help but remember light still reflects off of a black surface, it's just far less the other colors. By adding a crushed powder like black walnut shells you not only add a porous surface but also give an uneven surface for the light to reflect from so the rays are not focused.

yo im new an i got cfls an if 5000k, 1100 lumens 23 watt equivalent to 120 an i got 2 of then and i got another 2 5000k lights that r 16 watt that r equivent to 65 watt... is that alright

hi, welcome to rollitup. nice to meet ya. that being said......please start your own thread instead of hijacking others threads. just go to the right forum for the topic and hit add/new thread (its something like that) and u can start your own thread. how many plants do you wish to grow? how large is your grow area? cuz you can get through veg with what you got and maybe with a total of 2-3 smaller plants. but for flower your gonna want to bulk up the lighting some if u want a decent yield of nice tight buds. gotta have em close to the plant and lights on the sides also surrounding each plant. thats how you get a yield of an ounce dry a plant with cfls. i used 20 42w 2700k for my scrog of 4 square feet when i flowered it and got a qp dry of all very dense top colas from it. but i gotta say its more worthwhile in my opinion to grow more smaller plants (sog)and not veg for like 3-4 months like i did that grow cuz it takes alot less time. hope i helped. any ?'s lol
