Thanks in advance for any advice...

Here's the deal...i used Ace pre-nuted soil on my last grow..had NO problems.
Now i have 2 fem SnowWhites (Nirvana) going, and theyre getting rocked by this soil!!!! They're 2 weeks old today...not growing fast at all!!

Now if i flush the pre-nuted soil...will it only make the nute burn worse?? Or should i just give it a heavy flush???

-thanks!! Much appreciated

listen up you can safely flush the soil by dumping 4x the amount of soil in water so 5 gal dirt = 20 gal. water. What you are looking for is the water to run clear from the bottom. That being said i would not flush but carefully transplant into a un ferted soil.

it looks like an over watering problem.some plants root systems don't do so well in soil.a lot of plants are grown hydroponicly through out there breeding history,so breeders are more concrened with potency than how tolerant the plants are to over watering.the trick is to let your pots dry out and then ad a haif of teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per gal of water and mix some perlite in your soil for lots of air drainage.good luck

Was the soil damn wet when you bought it? If so, I've fried plants using too wet a medium on day one, etc. as stored wet, I think the time-release can leech out, into the soil and murderfying unsuspecting young plants!

I was just reading up on pre-nuted soils last night and even got an email from Scott's, MG's parent company this morning. I'm not sure it'd apply to your brand, but I discovered the following, which I'd assumed wasn't so. (from the e-mail)

Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix feeds for 3 months with Osmocote. Osmocote works on the principle of osmosis, which is how the product gets its name. Osmocote prills absorb moisture from the soil, causing them to swell into plump capsules of liquefied plant food. The nutrients are then slowly released through the prill's special coating to the plant's root zone through osmosis. This constant supply promotes beautiful plants. And since the nutrients are encapsulated, they will not wash away - no matter how much it rains or how often you water.

Yeah, I don't know how absolute that HQ info opinion is. It clearly implies that you could put a prill in a glass of water (you know what I mean) and it'd be "active" for 90 days, which seems far-fetched and wishful on their part, but who knows for sure? I'm gonna get back to them and call BS on that . . . will post reply.

Mr. Fishy, da man!
(beat me to it also :) )

Do post your results. BTW, did you ask if there is a way to rid the soil easily of the nutes?

To test the 90 days in a glass theory, you could grab a bunch of them, toss them in and measure the ppm. Then after the time, pull em out and let dry a but. Then toss back into a new glass of water and check ppm again.

Sounds like a plan, man . . . have at it . . . I know me and won't.

As for ridding the soil, the way I read it, just sit there for 90 days and it'll be gone, no matter how much you water!
Not a very good answer, IMO. We'll see if they dodge my re-reply.

you can wash away the ferts out of the soil after the pellets absorb too much they burst. It takes alot of time and alot of water.Making your roots vaunerable to lock out.If you do this flush make sure you let that soil dry out completly b4 your next water

So they burst and all the ferts are released at once? This would not be a good idea for anyone without experience to mess with, IMO.
This explains why the wet bag I accidentally bought was poison to everything it touched. The prills had burst. I knew it, but MG claimed they had no clue why their product was killing my crop, and even implied that old MrFish didn't know how to take care of a damn houseplant! Dumb-asses. I did get my money back and was able to save the plants and eventually harvest.
Good info.

Ok well instead of flushing, i just transplated them in to soil WITHOUT any nutes!!! the ONLY soil i could find at the moment WITHOUT the nutes in it already was Earthgro "top Soil" itwasnt the potting soil...
But i had some hydroton laying around and i just mixed a shitload of that in to get some decent drainage hopefully...

Here's what they look like 2 days after transplanting to the new soil
