depending on the area you live in
the larger the patch the greater the risk of detection
also the larger the patch the easier to justify budget expenses
they cant book 8 hours of flying time and 6 troopers salaries to pull 2 or 3 plants.
if they have sufficent cuase they will leave one of those motion activated cameras hunters use to try and catch pictures of whos tending it
heres some tips i picked up growing outdoors.
if you leave a trail, it will be found.
pick inconvenient spots.
spiderwebs are your friend, it lets you know how tall things walking around are.
the easier it is for you to get there the easier it gets detected.
fine mesh chicken wire eaqrly on to protect from mice and rabbits, later just a ring of the fine mesh around the base, and a bigger cage for deer.
or a low mesh wall for small animals and a ring of fishing line to keep larger animals out
if you dont have a reason to be there alot, it will raise questions.
try and pick a location near a water source, (this is a huge asset is it can be managed)
