Will my plant die if it becomes anymore root bound? (pics inside)

First time grower here, my leaves keep drooping despite the fact I make sure its never under-watered. When I water the soil a bit to fast the mud shifts and a huge amount of roots show. So is this defienetly root bound? Should I transplant it? And my plant is a skunk1 auto, its been around for 2 and a half months, how long before I begin to see buds, or are there any signs as to how long before it will be done?

Ahh damn I was told I was under-watering it weeks ago so I have gone from one extreme to the other haha. And do you know how far off my plant is to being finished from those pictures? Thanks for the reply by the way

No, have never grown an auto

Only way to tell is lift the plant gently out of its pot, and see the rootball, is it tight and hard...? then potup, as delay here will delay you on harvest, once potted up, an AUTO should be budding up soon then?
