Will normal Flourescent bulbs work?

i wanna grow on my properety, my house is surrounded by 3 neighors, 2 would steal my plants, and one would definantly call the police. FAGS! anyways i got three seperate units no one ever goes in on my property and i was wondering if the flourescent bulbs would work. im sure they're just regular bulbs you buy at like home depot, and probably dont have the wattage. so is it worth it to try and find a spot for like 5 plants, or should i grow indoors with those, or should i go buy some plant lights that will fit in the fixtures. i just transplanted my germinated seeds into soil and the'll sprout pretty quick i bet, like a good 5 days to a week and a half, so i got time to do something. so help a grower out!

I've grown from start to finish with fluoros, both with tubes-T5's? and with spiral CFL's.
They do pretty well, although they don't have the intensity of the 400 HPS I'm currently using, especially for flowering. I remember using about 7-8 regular household CFL's on 3 plants and was satisfied with the results. But then again, I hadn't smoked weed of any kind for about 5 years! Talk about wasting time.

I also have used flourescent tubes to grow. I stood them up the long way so they gave my plants more light. Like a vertical grow, worked very well also. I noticed my buds weren't as big and fat as they are now with my HPS lights i'm using now though.
