Will this be a problem with the cops and detection. Please help

Hi all,

I had a question, my flowering room will be in a spare bedroom that will have 2x1000 watt hps. The room however does have two windows in it, which will be covered by pandafilm to block light from coming in or escaping. I will also be venting the hot air from the room up into the attic of the house.

My question however is, eventhough temps will be controlled, will the cops be able to detect my room cuz it has windows and will they see the lights with their thermal detection cameras. Would choppers be able to detect this?

Just trying to be safe and do what i need to do. Thanks for your help

I had similar questions about IR.

1. I think you need be causing a lot of attention to yourself to get noticed.

2. Those cameras are not cheap, so I don't think every local cruiser has one, but more than likely access to one.

3. There is a material I picked up at my local shop that supposedly blocks IR from leaving the room. I was skeptical at first, and at 50k a meter a I can't really afford to test if the material is legit. I covered every part of the room with that material to block out anything. THey also make custom hood fitted designs. This stuff isn't cheap, but I like peace of mind.

Just make sure you control the odor, I would also recommend venting your attic to prevent mold.

how much did that stuff run you?

I have 100 ft of panda film and if i keep the room cool at 75 degrees do you think i will have a problem?

yeah i am venting to the attic and have a cann 66 carbon filter with a 660 cfm exhaust to cool the lights and exhaust the smell with the carbon filter.

does anyone else have any suggestions or whether the cops will be able to detect this?

Well I have a similar dielemma in that with my set up there aint no way to flower em without showing lights/heat so I just run the lights in the day time. 8 AM till 8 PM. Those infared deals are not generally used in the day time. Now my veg area is CFLs but there is quite a few of them so it do get fairly warmish in there so I run them at night since they need 18 hrs supposedly..but its in a closed closet so not much light gets out. I have a refrigerator in the same room and the back of it gets hotter than a two dollar pistol..so aint sure which apparatus a bored cop with a IF could detect the easiest. Hope they dont come raid my refrigerator.

So does everyone believe the police are out there with these "detection" devices searching for your grow?

So far I have only encountered one thread about a bust and that involved 90+ plants. Wouldnt there be more posts about small operations getting busted?

you guys dont need to be so paranoid. Cops are not patrolling every house with infrared cameras. Just keep your odor under control, and cover your windows. When you start getting into major lighting and plants thats when it gets sketch.

thanks for all of the help everyone.. its just getting close to flippin them to flower and i just wanna make sure that i am being as safe as possible. So im assuming that if i just vent to the attic(where its 110 degrees in the summer anyways) there is no way they would be able to tell because i will only be venting like 85 degree air into the attic.

Exactly! Also, what about all the cloth dryer ducts venting out hot air all around the world?

I know my area flies a helicopter damn near daily with FLIR imaging mounted on that shit. I see that fucker land at my local community air port all the time. Also my township+neighboring townships have the cash to burn on dumb shit like that. Hell when I was in HS my Science teacher was pushing for my school to get a multimillion dollar electron microscope for all the HS in the area to use shockingly we almost got it. The telescope was to be funded by some rich fucker and our townships were to pay for maintenance (which in itself is a half mill a year or more). Unfortunately some intercity school in god knows where got that shit.

So to answer your quest yes cops are out to bust growers everyday and night. I imagine the more of a budget your township has the more liberal they will be with the use of technology/wasting your tax dollars on dumb shit over a pointless war on MJ. If you live in the middle of nowhere or live in a "poorer area" then yeah growing should be no problem. I sure most rural areas are more concerned about outdoor grows and guerilla garden then they are about indoor growers.

Im pretty much only worried about my room being detected by the flir due to my windows. Even when i cover them with panda film, im worried that my room will show up because it will be hotter than the other rooms in the house.
