Will this scrubber work?

Sorry I already posted a thread but It sounded like a factual title. I have more of a question. Is there any reason this will not work? I plan on fulling the bottom (which is a rain guard) with active carbon. And in the elbow I plan on padding with shop rags.... It seems to be doing the same thing as the typical DIY bazooka setup but maybe there is more to it. This was much cheaper than the whole zooka design ive seen so many times plz gime your thoughts.

helpful community I see. the pictures being shown is a tough question with 55 views?
I think your filter looks too small for how fast that fun runs at full speed.....Maybe if you turn the fan down with a RPM controller it would work better..... But i wouldnt use that filter and i diff. wouldnt buy it

so with a speed controller it should work well? all Im trying to do is get the air to pass through the carbon at a reasonable speed correct?

Well im no saying it will work im just tellin you that the slower the air moves through the filter the better its filters.....And that is why is a good rule of thumb to get a bigger filter then what our fan is rated at.......so the slower your fan runs the better that little filter will work........

On the other hand if the fan is running to slow then its not doing its job so its like like rock in a hard place......... How much did you spend on making that filter?? and the carbon to put into it??
