Will this work to get rid of smells while growing?...

Ive got my aerogarden on the way

I just wanted to ask a question about suspicious smells. I was reading that a negative ion generator could be used to get rid of the suspicious smells whilst growing. Is this true?

It will help a bit... look at an Ozone generator and a big ass carbon filter.... It only gets worse as they bloom

I think you should focus your attention more to moving the air out of the room, or through an approved filter. Air purifiers are good to set next to the doorway, or just on the other side of the door, but you should focus most of your attention to moving the air to a chimney or other roof ventilaited tube. Outside of moving the air up and out, you'll probably find that a bigger more efficient fan and filter will be necessary.

im trying to keep costs as low as possible really. Im planning on using a aerogarden in my drawer (it is a large drawer) so suitable ventilation is near enough impossible without going unnoticed. Would the purifier do the job though?

are you thinking that with a areo you are going to really have enough to cause a stench?? I mean I grow 8 or so in a closet at a time and have no issues with any smell and live in a multi family home

I'm using a 50 dollar carbon 4 in filter from ebay, a 30 dollar 6 inch inline fane, and a 3 dollar 6 to 4 inch converter. works great in conjuntion with my ozone emitter I found on craigs list for 100 bucks. Prob with ozone generartors is, you are not moving air as the previous poster mentioned. It can kill the lovely smell of your buds, and it can reach toxic levels for both you and your plants, which sucks. If i had to choose one, fan and filter all the way over ozone.
