Hi, I am doing a scrog of 4 plants and I bent 1 plant down and it's split, I bent the two main arms right down and in that process it's split the main stem about half an inch were the two arms meet I just left it it's been a week and it's still living and feeding, I'm just concerned whether they could turn the plants male any info useful thanks guys

No. Sex is predetermined in the seed embryo. It doesn't change. Bending has no effect. Feel free to tie the plant in a knot.

Thanks So no matter how much I bend or top or prune the plant can't turn male or hermaphrodite, if it is female no matter what I do in terms of training it will produce female budss

Hermaphrodite is a survival mechanism. It has nothing to do with sex. It makes sure that low numbers of cannabis in the wild will survive to have more generations. When there's not enough pollen to go around. A female can herm to produce off spring. It's a natural function.

Bending has nothing to do with anything about herm or sex.

Well I disagree and have seen sensitive plants grow nanners or even make full male flowers right at the stress point more than once.

It depends on the genetics and so many other factors but the break where the bend is on a main stem is quite stressful to a plant.

And if done in veg I have seen it in flower anyway.

They call it light stress training for a reason. No longer light stress if forced enough to break.

I would just keep an eye on her. I don't cull plants for a nanner or two anyway. I pick them off and see how it goes.

Well I've just looked at the link and it mentions nothing of it happening when doing this during veg, it says about them been stressed in flower

So is there any way to tell if I have stressed them to that point
Not always I am sorry to say. And the stress can be from back during veg and then surprise you in flower.

If I bend plants. I do it as gently as possible and a little at a time if the plant resists.

And if there is nutrient stress or any stress I fix that first.

I dont usually have issues but once in a while I do and want to tell you about it. I was growing Dr. K Incredible Bulk under 800 watts . We had a really hot week or two where I ran the A.C through the chiller to keep their environment at 75 degrees around the clock while it was well over 105 outside. No problem, just as usual and life continued. I had no Idea that the A.C was purposely shut down just before she went to bed and turned back on again after she woke up lmfao...... Buds were massive and beautiful with not a male flower to be had... Full of Fuckin seeds thats why they were so big and firm LOL. Temp flux f'ed them up bad.... But lots and lots of female seeds wich I ran and none have hermied and mostly grew true to their predecessor. Maybe luck? Im still on the fence with this ....

Not luck. You had good genetics.

So my mate has a 1sq mtr tent on and the water system he is doing is just 4 pots coco+ pebbles sat in the tray and water just comes into the tray, and sits there until the plants have drank it then it keeps refilling as the water goes down, is that not bad for the plants to just be sat in water all the time, and won't it cause alot of problems with humidity in flower I have never heard it done this way, does anyone have any useful link for this style of watering thanks guys
