Will toping a flowering plant, make buds?

I have a plant that has been growing for about 7-8 weeks and is flowering. It has like 4-5 nodes with bud, but it hasn't produced a central bud yet. I don't know why it's flowering early, I guess it's an auto-flower, but It's from bag seed so i don't know for sure. Anyway, a friend told me that if I cut diagonally the top of the last node, it will stop stretching and begin to produce a central bud. Should i risk it or will it hurt the plant? The reason I'm considering it is because I'm afraid it will go back to veg mode and keep growing because it's about 12:45 light hours and rising.

With the days getting longer it will revert back to veg anyway. Go ahead and top it. The lower shutes will fill out and the plant will be bushier and more healthy overall.

it will develope it's "cola" in time.
there is way to get more buds by "LST"ing the plant.
use this site, for information,, you will be really surprised by how much advice you can get threw RIU.
the girl is outdoors, correct?
if so,, and you you want to keep it in flower mode,, 12 hours of light, and 12 hours of darkness.
from what i have been taught (threw this site) 18-20 hours, for veg mode, then back to 10-12 hours for flowering.
the central bud you speak of, is the begining of the cola.
good luck

OK, but my question is if cutting the last node of the flowering plant that has not produced a central cola, make it do so, faster?

IF URE OUTSIDE ITS GONNA REVERT BACK INTO VEG UNLESS ITS A AF ,BUT I DONT THINK IT IS ,IF ITS 7-8 WEEKS OLD , WICH IS A GOOD THING UVE GOT A GOOD START ON THE GROWING SEASON GET A LARGER POT 8-10 GAL WOULD DO VERY WELL FOR A LARGE PLANT . I WOULD WAIT ON TOPPING TO ABOUT 7-8 NODE THEN CUT OFF THE BOTTOM 2 . THEY DONT GET TOO MUCH LIGHT AND ARE A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM

I heard from many different sources that topping a plant while it's in its' flowering stage will greatly decrease it's bud production. Instead of focusing its' energy on producing buds and THC, it will focus its' energy on repairing and making a new main cola. I'm new at growing, so I don't have any personal experience with this problem so I could be wrong. I would research this subject a little further before trying to do this. Hope I helped. Happy Growing

If you want it bigger and you plan on growing it all summer then topping it now is fine.
