will turning off the lights for 8-10 affect my plants?

I have 1 plant about 6 weeks into flower and 2 other plants that are about amonth old started 12-12 from seed, because of a house inspection i need to hide my plants while im at work. I was thinking just chucking them in the roof so they dont get spotted but this also means they wont get light for about 8-10hrs :S

The light comes on at 6am in the morning so should i just leave them out of the light until i get home so instead of being 12-12 they will be 8/18? or turn the lights on for a little bit, go to work an turn em off them come home an turn em back on then turn em off at the usual 6pm? if that make sense

it wont hurt them to have a dark day ,
could just be an overcast day ?

you can have a darker day no problem...... 6 light, 18 dark. my power has gone out for 6 hours when i was out of town and it actually shifted my dark period 6 hours out of whack and it didn't affect anything.

yeah i woulda thought the dark shudnt have a negative impact, though i believe that ya shud to it just as ya lights go off so ya dont interupt them in theyre dark hours with light as ya move them
