Wilting leaves and brown spots - RDWC

Any thoughts? They looked great a few days ago??? Now there’s brown spots and they look sick and wilting! Too

roots are perfect.
Two weeks old
Browsing indoors
Ph6.0
Temps is 80deg
Humidity is a bit low around 40%
Ppm 410 (700 scale)

i had another look and things I can think of:

My water was above the bottom of the planting basket (RDWC) so maybe water levels too high? Dropped it to 1/4” below the planting basket instead of 1/4” above the bottom

lights were at 24” so I raised to 36”

turned my exhaust fan down to allow more humidity to build up.

good fixes?
any other suggestions based on you experienced RDWC guys?

rust spots are Ca deficiency.

which could be not enough Ca or your pH is too high for it to used by the plant.

i would get your pH down to 5.5 to 5.8

what is the temp of the water? but it looks like u just need to get your ph a little bit lower and increasing your cal a lil bit but could be another problem if your roots water temp is 80F.

Ph was 5.8 on Sunday with a gradual climb to 6.1 today

water temp is 67 degrees

I’ve been using current culture feeding schedule So I guess I can add more Coco Cal

Think the water level being too high contributed? like I said it was above the bottom of the basket now it’s 1/4” below

I just dropped ph to 5.5

if you had enough bubbles it probably wasn't a problem IMO.

if your pH rises normally, set it at 5.5 and let it go til it hits 6.1 then pH down bakc to 5.5 i think the fluctuation is good for nute uptake

i would just get your ph to 5.8 if it doesn't improve add a lil bit of cal to see if it will do better if it does u found your problem if it gets worse sumthing is up

The puffy leaves says to much food,excessive P will lock out Ca.Is your pH meter correct ?

How would I know? I’m running a blue labs guardian monitor. I did calibrate it

Like how do I verify? Clearly the leaves are ca deficient and puffy.

I wonder if having the water level too high made them puffy?

Nothing to do with water level if you have an air stone. Think about when there big most of the roots are under water. PH calibration can be done with baking soda. Mix a tea spoon into a glass of water. Stir it up. Ph should be 7.9 I think. Goggle to confirm.

You can try a foiler feed of calmag. See if that helps.

Also there are some strains that are calmag hogs. I had a GG4 that needed twice the amount I normally used.

I had fans blowing right on the plants which which was stressing the crap out of them hence the purple stems and was causing brown wind burn spots and not allowing them to breathe.
I thought it was strange that new growth was coming in fine with no issues just the bottom leaves....
Anyhow thanks for the help!

@BurntByFire I like to tell everyone to not sweat the small stuff, and that sometimes trying to over treat a minor problem can cause more harm than good, overall its hard to tell (entire plant shots are nice) but it seems like the rest of the plant is pretty healthy, just dial in the PH and nutrients, experiment with your other variables and you will certainly not be held back from harvest by a small issue such as this. good luck.
