Hey folks,
Today marks 12 weeks of flowering Delicious Cotton Candy via light deprivation in my experimental 4 season green house.
I live in Denver and wanted to see if I could successfully flower during the time of year when the sun is weakest.
Verdict: yes it is possible to get cannabis to produce cannabinoids in a greenhouse even in the middle of winter.
During these last 12 weeks, Denver has had two 'deep freezes' where the daily high did not break single digits Fahrenheit.
The last one a few weeks ago caused the temperature to drop to 34 degrees. I also wanted to test the limits of greenhouse and plant during these cold spells, so I did not run any electric heaters.
The plants turned purple. The green house was shuttered up for 4 days straight: sub 40 temperatures, 75 percent humidity, and complete darkness - kinda Han Solo-in-carbonite-esque.
When things warmed up, it seemed trichome production resumed. However, now it seems that new flowers have resumed growth. It is easy to see the new growth as it is green compared to everything else which is purple.
Trichomes still are mostly cloudy and clear, but few amber.
Anyone ever experienced this before?
