Wiring ballast to cool tube help

Hello,

Long story short I would like to put my 150w hps in a cool tube.

here is the HPS I have

Here is the cool tube I am looking at

I know it's cheap.. that's what I'm going for.
I have never wired a ballast or light socket. I've noticed on the light itself that the ballast can be detached from the hood. I've opened up the metal box where the wiring is and I can see the black and white wires that connect the socket to the ballast.

If I were to detach the current hood, and take apart the wires connecting the socket to the ballast, Could I then splice the wire that comes with the cool tube and connect to the ballast? the cool tube wire should just be that black and white wires correct? or will there be a ground as well?

Why all this work for a puny 150watter you ask? well.. I am setting up a 4x4 flowering tent and I currently own a 400w hps (running a ceramic metal halide bulb) and this 150w hps (cant for the life of me remember why I bought the darn thing)

So I thought..instead of purchasing a 600w HPS for the flowering tent I could spend a lot less and just utilize what I have. I know the 150w doesn't get extremely hot but it gets warm enough that I would like to run it inline with my aircooled 400w and make the most of my over powered inline fan.

aka I would spend $35 for a hood instead of $150 for a whole new 600w setup and not have two lights just sitting around getting no use

thanks for taking the time to read through!
