Got pics / specs? Sounds like some sort of computer fan? Is it 12 VDC? How big is the space you are installing the fan in? Pics, pics and more pics.

Pretty basic AC power connection, run your wire in through the strain relief and clamp it down, connect the wires to the lugs. The lugs are those screws in the white plastic block. Each lug that is empty will be connected to the wire under the lug across from it.

You could use an old PC power cord, cut the end off that connects to the computer and wire it into the fan.

I've got an old PC cable as you suggested and there are 3 wires (blue, brown and green-yellow one) and I'm not sure which ones I should wire up and where as there are only 2 lugs.

The blue and brown wires are the ones you want, doesn't matter what one goes on which lug, the green one is ground and they don't appear to have a ground lug so leave the green one disconnected.

Correct me if I am wrong but he will need to connect that to a 220 outlet will he not?

The wire he has is color coded Brown = Hot and Blue = Neutral. Of course it won't make any difference to the fan.
