wiring question

how do i wire an extension cord to a light socket? sorry for such a dumb question i just don't want to wire it wrong and get killed...thanks in advanced for any help.

had to do that myself, my ext. cord has three wires, as yours prob does. white, black, and green. green is the ground other two hot and neutral. as i understand, the white and black are interchangeable (doesnt matter how you hook them up) just make sure your ground is connected properly. maybe this helps?

my cord is only 6ft and had only 2 wires. i wired it and on my first try it worked so i guess i did it right. thanks for the help though
