wondering about going 24/7 for veg

Hi I was just wondering about going 24/7 during veg then dropping to 12/12 for bud.
I have a friend who swears by it but I'd like some "outside" info you could say.

thats how most do it. some go 18/6 or 20/4 either because they want to save electricity or they think the plant will grow better if it can sleep at night. but it is always 12/12 for flowering as this tricks the plant into thinking winter is coming, so it will start to bud

It all depends on strain some do just fine under 24/7 some don't like it and will grow slower without a period of rest. I veg 24/7 only because I do my clones in the same cabinet that I veg in and the clones seem to root faster with 24/7 light

Do what you want. The plant respires in the dark cycle, other plant process occur in the dark cycle. That's why 18/6 is a perfect veg cycle. Not because its cheaper than a 24/0 cycle. It gives the plant a rest period, if you want to call it that. Even when the lights are off there are plant processes going on.
