I just applied for a job in my local hydro shop, Does anyone else work in one?

Do you think it will help my chances having growing experience or would it be seen as a risk or dodgy?

I really want the job as i work in customer service as a career but i desperatly want to work in a field that i have a passion for.

Your experience will def help. How you use it depends on the shop you work in. I've been in shops where they will not discuss "our" type of growing except with general info on hydro. On the other hand I go to a shop where no one make believe we're not growing weed. They are VERY helpful.

Exactly what was said, you can talk about your growing experience but I wouldn't openly come out and say what you have experience with, tell them lettuce or something.

If you want to bring it up and can't wait, just tell them you grow a lot of tomatoes, if they are cool they'll tell you to quit pretending and if they aren't they will talk straight about growing tomatoes.

I wouldn't bring it up until the conversation presented itself.

In your interview you could play dumb and ask if people really grow weed with this stuff or ask what to do if someone asks you about what to use to grow weed.

Thats great. I thought my general enthusiasm would be a plus and in my covering letter i touted myself as profesional and discreet but didnt mention MJ. I just said i had an interest and it was a hobby.

I really hope i get the job...

If i was in Cali for example i would try to get a medical licence and grow profesionally eventually for people in real need. After years of participating in dealing and smoking at a street level i am finally ready to become a good citizen lol and i want to ply my trade and passion somewhat legally.

I own a shop and i have hired people that have no real knowledge and it didn't workout so well for me.You have to know product and what your talking about. If you do get the job my advice to you would be this.Never answer a question that you really don't know the answer too.Always be honest with the customers. If you don't know something any of the distributors you will be dealing with are more than happy to answer questions with a quick phone call. The last thing you want is someone to go home and fuck their shit up due to your advice.

Amen to that !!!! I'd much rather have someone say they don't know but I can go ask someone that does or go look up the answer for you than to have someone try to BS their way thru it.

My kid even knows when someone is BS'ing, when we go to leave a store he always says "That guy didn't know what he was talking about, huh, daddy ?"

Basic rules of customer service cannaman2.5 , I am very experienced in this. I know the consequences of mis-representation and if i was working in a hydro shop i would most certainly take pride in learning all my product knowledge!
