I would educate them on it, but I would not allow them to use it in my household until they were at least 18. This might seem hypocritical but if I ever have kids, they are to respect me, and my rules- especially if they live in my home.
But who knows... I know I'll certainly not reprimand them harshly if they try it prior to being 18... but I will be disappointed with their decision.

If my kid wanted to smoke, i would let him if
he/she was over 16, had at least a 3.5 gpa, had a job, and did everything he/she was supposed to, chores homework etc

Yeah, I'm curious too why it's a stupid subject to ponder? I think openly sharing our opinions on how we can teach our children about cannabis is important. Or would you prefer your children believe the spoon fed crap that they'll get out of the DARE program?such a stupid subject to even ponder..It's been brought up more than 1 time on here!! give it a rest!

What constitutes a "bad reason" for using cannabis?
My parents let me smoke at home, because they'd rather know that I'm safe than have me lying about where I'm going and running the streets with a bag of pot in my pocket. At home, there's much less risk of legal trouble, too.
If I found out my kids were smoking pot, I'd ENCOURAGE them to do it under my roof. BUT, no friends coming over and getting stoned in my house unless it's okay with their parents, too.

When they are an adult they can make decision's on their own. Letting them smoke weed before their body is fully devoloped is l ike cutting their life short in a way. You should repremand them appropriately for using while they're underage, bottom line. But since most of us smoked at an early age, it seem's ok to introduce your kid to it. I just think it should be a standard answer of, "NO WAY"..that's all. Opinion's are good though, sorry for ruining the post. my bad..lol

No, I was just wondering if you meant EVER. I would not encourage my underage kids to do any of it...simply because that's my job,and I don't wanna go to jail.

a bad reason for the use of cannabis to me would be like doing it to get back at your parents ( i am guilty of this) , smoking just to fit in, smoking to be bad, or anything else other than the purpose of just enjoying a high and growing from it... to me that is.
use responsibly is what i was tryin to say... and thats what i would teach my kid when i feel like its time to talk about the matter.

Sure would... cause the first second I tell him he can't, I lose all trust with him, and he'll do it behind my back, instead of where I can actually somewhat "supervise". And yes, he'll go off with friends and smoke but he won't be worried about coming home looking stoned and about if dad is gonna find out and whoop his ass.

My parents told me when I was 8 if you ever feel the want to expirence drugs please do it responsibly and under the care of one of us or one of your bros.. I pondered weed an asked my bro .. Hey I wanna try weed... He got a bag an we toked after my third hit I called my mom up.. Mommy ... Guess wat???? I'm high!!!... She laughed asked where I was and asked to speak to my bro I gave him the phone an he cracked up an hung up... I lost the urge to smoke it for about 2 years an my doc said it could help with my head aches an add.. So.. Now I'm mellooooooow... Ha ha but the fact that I knew my parents wouldn't hate me in a way helped me be resonsible... I've only also tried extacy 4 times. Also I don't have to wonder way the drugs are like because they share there expirences with is good and bad an from them I have learned eat would be ok an what I should stay away from.. So I do believe that my parents did right with being open with us.. My father was a big stoner till I was 7 so it wasn't foregin to me.. Also plus for the past 5 years my mother has had her own farm... So I get to go up trim a few plants up an bring them home to dry. As long as they can prove there resonsible enough for it it's all good to me but no dealing and no plants till there 18 an never carry more than 1 ounce on them.. Lol I'm gonna be hella strick but leaient(can't spell) LOL..
