So I know you are not supposed to touch your plants, but kinda had to so I could move some around...both my arms brushed up against a few of them and within a minute I got a crazy welted rash all over both my arms. I washed with soap but they are still burning/itching like you wouldnt believe ....45 minutes later!
Anyone know why this happened?

i dont know ? i did just water mine and now after reading this my arms are itching.....:blsmoke:

what strain ?

I guess... but if I were allergic to the oils on the outside...wouldnt that mean I would be allergic inside as well? When you go to an allergist they take small amounts of suspect allergens..foods, plants, pet dander etc, and if it causes a rash in the spot they prick you in...you are supposed to stear clear. Ive only smoked it never eaten any food with it but I was planning on it with this crop...hopefully thats not what it is.

i had to go get a large fan leaf and see if this was caused by the oils from the plant.

i will let you know.

i brushed up against a leaf on this tree one time and did the same thing. i went back and checked the next day and brushed alll up on it and didnt get the rash again. maybe some weirdbug or insect

Better not be... I actually inspected my plants yesterday for lil bugs and/or eggs cuz someone posted something about mites... got me all paranoid. But I dont have any. My plants are indoors, I live in a pretty new home and I dont even thing bugs could even survive in the kind of weather we've been having lately, plus my plants all look great... that would absolutely be my worst nightmare.

here is some info........

POISONOUS PLANTS
These plants contain a wide variety of poisons and symptoms may range from a mild stomach ache, skin rash, swelling of the mouth and throat to involvement of the heart, kidneys or other organs. Some plants may not cause toxicity unless ingested in large quantities:

A brief brushing against a poisonous plant won't do too much damage. Contact must be made with the plant's colorless oil, called urushiol. Oil is released when the plant is cut, crushed, stepped on, sat on, grabbed, rolled on, or kicked. It is also released if the brush is burned. Once released, the toxic oil penetrates the skin, and a rash appears 12-48 hours after exposure. The rash typically progresses from small bumps into enlarged, itchy blisters. No body part is immune, although areas most often irritated are the face, arms, hands, and genitals.

I Like how you highlighted the genitals... Im not sure wtf I would do if I got a rash like that on the coochie... Id probably have a heart attack...no joke.
Good research. I guess I am going to have to be more careful!!!

never gotten a rash from my plants, but i have noticed that the few times i have done any extensive trimming on them, i started feeling really strange, heart rate went up and just got a general anxious feeling that made me just want to get out of the room as soon as possible.
