Yellow + Dry + Spots - FFOF Grow w/ Dr Earth Ammend

Hey all! First grow. Not sure what I'm facing with this one. I'm doing 3 gallon pots, tent w/ circulation, watering every other day. In the 7 weeks, I've top amended maybe 2Tbs of dr Earth. You can see the full grow here https://growdiaries.com/diaries/887...mnesia-autoflowering-grow-journal-by-arcadios

I've recently started seeing some yellow leaves come through. I raised my light about a week ago but as best I can tell from searching, the suspect seems to be that the light is still too close. It's currently at 18" in about week 7 of grow, 3 of flower.

Symptom
* Yellowing leaves with brow spots
* Drying leaves towards the end

I also included a magnified photo of the spots. It doesn't look like what I would expect mold to look like.

That said, buds are looking fat and growth seems to be on track!

Heres some extras. As you can see there is -some- yellowing on the other plants, but not as bad as the one in the middle.

pH is typically 6.3 in both watering and runoff.

In which week did you amend the soil? Was the yellowing already showing then?

I amended on this one in on week 2 of flower, 5 of grow. The one in the middle has had the least top amendments out of them all, because I got what I thought was a bit of burn the first time so I skipped the top amend I did with the other two on week 5.

That’s where you messed up. Dry amendments require time to break down in the soil you shouldn’t have skipped a feeding, you should have fed at a lower dose

hmm. I had already been feeding the other ones 1tbs for a 3 gallon pot, even tho the bag said 1 tbs /gal. Are you thinking the yellow I'm seeing is deficiency? It would explain why the others have less yellow. I know FFOF is supposed to be able to carry a lot of the grow so I've been trying not to overdo it with the Dr Earth

Understandable. It does seem like you over thought the feeding process and starved it a little. I've seen at least two amendment style growers mention as long as you don't go overboard then it should only uptake as much as it needs. (Now you must not overfeed it while trying to fix it)

For future reference those specific genetics won't strive off a third of the recommended feeding.

Well, today things changed a bit. :p My Amnesia got crispy and more yellow, the Critical Kush got a bit more yellow, and the original plant we discussed stayed about the same, but maybe had a few more leaves go yellow. I'm thinking maybe I just chronically underfeed, except maybe the Amenisa, no idea there.

Hey man, this is what i do, when using Dr. Earth dry amendments you need to use Flower girl mixed 50/50 with Home Grown

Now that the two fertilizers are mixed together,
One TBSP per 3 gallon pot is not enough
According to me, the correct amount is 1 TBSP per gallon of medium, so 3 TBSP total for your 3 gal pots, feed once you start flowering, and 3 weeks later. That's it, water in slowly

I find i have less issues using Roots Organics Original soil, instead of FFOF
Also i PH my tap water to 7.0 anything lower causes problem for me

here's a plant i grew like that at 90ish days from germination, don't get discouraged dr earth dry nutrients are fucking awesome you get the best tasting weed

It's real easy to get bud rot with dense buds like that you wanna keep around 40-45% humidity near the end when they are that dense. Looks like they need air, and rust spots from calmag deficiency due to temperature/nute uptake. No big deal just put a fan on em and keep a dehumidifier near by

I agree lots of people have issues with FFOF. The nutrients I cannot vouch for.
