Yellowing leaves with red veins and stems

New Member
Growing GG4 under Gavitas 3 feet away to top of biggest colas at 900 watts. Week 5. Soil. Feed feed flush system. Growth science nutrients. One day calmag, one day Bloombastic. The red stems and veins tell me its nutrient related. Its happening in the middle to top of plant mostly in middle of room with most of the light. Maybe a lockout or a deficiency? Not getting enough p/k? Too much light? Suggestions please.

Ok couple of things.

I would ask why in pics 1 and 2 do your plants look super wet!

Second.
It appears as though you are having issue with nutrient uptake which could be being caused by the over load of CalMag supplements and the BLOOMBASTIC PK booster.

Personally I would mix up a light feed of your base nutes pH’d to 6.5 and keep going with the base nutes.

Chances are you are hindering uptake by throwing too many nutrients at them.

It also appears as though some of your leaves are twisting a little. Usually this is caused by a pH imbalance.

I should have mentioned these pictures were taken after I sprayed for pm one last time preventatively. I will try to cut back on nutes and see what happens. Thank you

No, it isn't, it's simply strain.
Nute def's will show up in leaves, not stems or in the capillaries of your leaves, and you don't have any.
Your seeing normal growth, and leaf yellowing is normal at your stage.

I believe possibly lockout due to high calcium. Other issues water and pH.

Fuck sprays, not efficient for a 3 month grow unless your killing mites.
Powdery mildew will never go away once you have it.
You have to stop it from happening, like low humidity and lot's of air movement, that's it.

Have you ever tried a systemic fungicide like SouthernAG?
Same bacteria as hydro guard only cheaper and way more concentrated.

Our aloe got a gnarly fungal disease and the SouthernAG is kicking its ass.

Not pretty though.
Infected tissue gets consumed, which leaves void space if you know what I mean... :shock:

Another reason I don’t like dual CalMag is an abundance of one element can cause deficiency symptoms of the opposite element.

Too much Ca hinders uptake of Mg and too much Mg hinders uptake of Ca then you end up chasing Ca and Mg deficiencies by dumping more into your nutes.

Agreed.
The pics look like Ca deficiency, which has gotta be an imbalance or ph.

Depends on how you define "soil".
I've actually gotten into arguments over this and am not sure anymore... :dunce:

Speaking for myself, calmag is a no-no in organic soil unless I need a quick fix for a deficiency. Many organic amendments already contain calcium so it's rarely in short supply.
(Bone, crab, rock dust, guano, oyster shell, etc.)

Magnesium is different and I usually top dress with a little langbeinite halfway through flower.

Just a tip that strain of bacteria are light sensitive so best applied right at lights out for best effect
