Is this true? Do you think anyone who puts their mind to something and has the devotion to follow through can accomplish anything they set their mind to? Is this some bullshit saying people say to feel better about themselves?

I wish it was true. If you have the brain power you may be able to but for some like me it can't happen.

I think that there are people who have been told their whole life that they can be anything they want to be if they put their mind to it .....only to have life smack them in the chops again and again untill they finally give up...and on the other hand I'm sure there are plenty of people who were told by everyone that they could be anything they wanted to be if they put their mind to it and had no problem attaining that dream. It's my opinon that there have been more failures than sucess's in regards to attaining one's dreams..........I think there is more involved than just desire.

Well I think this is true to a certain extent, when I was told I needed chemotherapy I remember sitting looking at the doc thinking no I can't do this, I wanted to get up and run out of the room. Then the nurse sat beside me and held my hand and said you can do this you really can do this. I focused on what she telling me and when I left that room I knew that I could do it and I could face the sickness the hair falling out and all the unpleasantries I was going to face. When I came to the last session I was proud of myself iam a real coward and I had faced my fears head on and I'd done it, but only after I had programmed my brain to except what was going to happen.
