I’ve read a few things about spotting the difference but I’ve heard of crosses or mixing and I was interested to hear if anybody had experience with noticing the differences.
It all started with the landrace strains, that proliferated in isolated areas with minimal human interaction. Eventually they became cultivated over the last few thousand years and eventually were given names based on their locale: Acapulco, Columbia, Jamaican, Afghani, etc. These base strains became manipulated in the last hundred years or so to produce third generation (and hybrid) strains, coming up in the 80s. These strains became even further modified in the last 35 ish years to produce further hybridization. These days, it’s harder to find pure or close to pure landrace strains, as they often have personality traits we don’t find desirable as a society. Personally, I love me a strong sided Sativa hybrid. But because of mass production and the trending cultural wave of cannabis, we are creating new strains that mix the old genetics so many times, we have very different expressions of the genes that have been passed on over generations of breeding.I’ve read a few things about spotting the difference but I’ve heard of crosses or mixing and I was interested to hear if anybody had experience with noticing the differences.
Its generally pretty clear if its indica or sativa leaning, as soon as you know what a indica looks like and what a sativa looks like as soon as you see a hybrid you can see what side it leans more to.I’ve just been reading on the difference in the looks of both leaves and plants. I’ve just wondered with hybrids, do folks usually look for things that indicate more of one or the other.
That is true. We've been using the wrong words for all our lives. I forget which is which, and I am too lazy to Goggle.isn't it Indica and Narrow leaf drug cultivar or some shit now? Something to do with a wrong classification in the past?

I'm being cool with you, I'm kinda trying to say that experiance and time will be your friend on this. I could tell you everything you need to know, but until you have done it a few times it wont really mean anything to you and you'll forget everything I've said by then anyways.C’mon, this is for fun, right? If this weren’t a “newbie” forum I could see what you are indicating, that I’m asking dumb questions. I’m just trying to learn and spark discussion, and hopefully be cool with everybody.
