Ziplock vs Jars.

I've been smoking for long time and i always store my buds in Ziplock bags however i started using jars but when i store the weed in jars then the smell of the marijuana becomes softer more like if it were just a regular plant.

Also i just harvested and dry one plant, when i dry it the smell was okay but when i put them buds in jars, again is the same problem, the marijuana smells get softer again.

i tried plastic jars, glass jars, [FONT=arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif]air-tight glass jars, and is the same problem? Should i give up with jars and stay with ziplock bags?

i wouldnt use ziplocks cause the sides of the bag love just sucking off your trichs

Hmmm, I wouldn't use bags. Can't tell you why you are smelling a difference. Maybe it's the curing process?

Baggies are for dealers to transport the bud to buyers. IMO jars are best for storage.

Jars for my weed, bags for my peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Agreed jars are so much better. even when i had to get smoke from my dealer i would still bring it home and throw it in a jar.

i think containers are better for curing but glass jars better for final storage

Give me jars anyday, besides, even if the smell softens after time, as long as it smokes ok, what's the problem?

Do you only put the 8 grams in with the boveda as recommended? looks like more? Thanks!

Yes, it has to be the curing process because now with my new jars i bought them yesterday they are smelling better, it's my first harvest. My other buds still smelling good with my new air-tight glass jars, also i think i'm going to get some humidity packs. tyvm.

That's a good deal. When they start to get hard it's time to replace them. They last a year sealed in the bag, about three months in use. I'm over three months on my current Bovedas and they are still working fine. Just depends on how much moisture they have to regulate.

Good question. Those jars in the pic are close to an oz. dry weight each, but the buds have already been dried and cured. Some growers stick the packs in with the wet buds. It will work but you need more packs or you have to replace them quickly.

This is a long-term storage solution and the lids don't come off anymore. I have smaller jars for daily use with humidity packs in them as well. I recommend buying small humidity gauges on ebay for $10 to monitor the moisture levels. The most important step in growing is drying and curing. If done correctly, the buds will be amazing.

I use 5 gallon jars I got at The Container Store for curing and storage.
The Container Store is great, I walk around and point to stuff saying, "You could put your weed in there."

When I bought 6 to start out the elderly lady working at the register asked me what I was going to do with them.
I said, "I'm going to cure marijuana."

The poor woman blushed and said something about wishing she hadn't asked.

Yeah, that's a great store. A guy like me can go nuts in there. I'm way to organized for my own good.

I eat a lot of spaghetti so I can't always make up the sauce from scratch. So I save up the jars that I get from the store and I've found they work well. If anyone knows a reason I shouldn't be doing this, please let me know.

Jars for sure, curing and long term storage. Trics don't stick to the glass and the product continues to smell better with age.
