If I have the ceiling height than is it better for yields to get a powerful HPS or COB led, or Blackdog type LED and penetrate deep into the canopy and grow taller plants or still go wide with the QB or bar style lights and grow wider but shallower plants??? (aka scrog, lollipopping, etc.)
Thanks!
With the 600watt mh/hps and 4x 1000wat led equivalent 120-140 actual wall watts 2 are burple red blue type and two are full spec led.
I would like some advice with maybe running less watts durring veg and also optimal set up options I will be growing a heavey indica driven strain. Looking to...
I am considering starting a new 6 light grow and considering switching two 8 light rooms, from Gavita Pro (double ended) 1000watt lights to the new Gavita LED 1700E (drawing roughly 640watts)
Pacific North West (cold winters, hot summers, legal grows)
the new room: basement 6.5'ceilings...
Have the system setup totally now. Got my first four in used autos for my first time. Figured it would be a good way to break it in.
I started this project about 2 months ago. Some parts I've had a little longer used them in the last setup.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Apologies ahead of time for my wordiness—20 inches under 400w HPS installed yesterday (100w’s of true LED’s used until then.) Fox Farm with Coco. Humidity is about 25% (too low.) Certainly not overwatering, but maybe too much nutrients (have been using first two of Fox Farm Trio) Temperature is...
I’ve been using only 100w LED’s to this point, which I will add to my new 400w HPS. Any advice on distance between light and plant or other factors? Will also soon transplant from 3 gal to 15 gal pot. Fim was done yesterday. Bag seed.

I been growing for a few years, but the past year it's been more serious. I now have a fully operational perpetual harvest going on. I experiment with a lot of different techniques and am still learning a lot. I consider myself a novice, maybe not a complete noob, but definitely...
I’m growing 3 plants ...they are bag seed. I wanted to know if using a bunch of cfl bulbs and led bulbs would be good or if there are any cheap led lights with power. Any suggestions? I appreciate any constructive response.
Hi,
I wondered how much ultra violet radiation is there in double ended HID or HID lamps in general? I already have glasses, but how about my plastic stuff in that room, will it degrade like when in the sun outside?
e.g. I can buy a switch box in uv stable plastic and a not uv resistant plastic...
Been here on RIU for a bit and been green growing for years but I thought generating a thread of the SHIT STRAINS each of you growers have encountered..... thanks @pop22 for the idea.
Each grower have constantly stated the strains they love , but what about the over hyped , shit breeding ...
First time posting, how's it growing everybody?
So I'm' about to start construction on a 10ft high, 7ftx18ft room. It's in the back of my uninsulated garage. I've got 3 hydrofarm raptor hoods 8". What's the best way to cool these, without letting the neighbors know what's going on? Quiet is key...
Hey Guys,
Got myself some Cookie Wreck and Lemon OG for this run. Hopefully there will be a nice selection of flavors.
Strians:
12x CannaVulture Cookie Wreck - Mostly Indica, Medium height, 50 - 60 flower time
3x DNA Genetics Lemon OG - Mostly Indica, Medium height, 56 - 63 flower time...
Watts and electrical energy is a form of input. It’s what the light uses, not the plant. The photons are the output energy.
The reason a 200-250w COB will perform like a 600w HPS is because HIDs are incandescent, meaning they use heat to create light by design. Everyone should easily recognize...
I'm tired of paying for something that can be grown just like my tomatoes or cucumbers. Sadly I can't just grow this plant under the sun so I've had to setup an indoor grow. I have a 6' X 8' X 8' space in which to grow. I started with a single 400 watt HID. Since I'm working in an attic space...
I was planning on growing 3 plants indoors. I'm having trouble figuring out whats the best lighting would be without spending a ton of money. From what i researched the galaxyhydro 600w LED (possibly supplemented with clf's?) looked like a good choice. But apparently a lot of these cheaper LEDs...
So idk what the problem is but your help would be greatly appreciated. These are 2 auto Pounder plants in 7 gallon (I know the pots are probly too big) coco fabric pots under a 600 hps hid. I had them on 600 full power for a week but it was super hot so I just recently turned them down to 400...
