What was your best strain ever?

I am starting a new grow and looking to add to my genetics library, I am looking for a sativa dominant hybrid, a 50/50 hybrid and a strong indica. I only grow from seed and prefer to buy from a breeder or a reliable authorized seed bank. I grow in soils indoor and outdoor. My primary concern is quality (impact and taste), then yield and then time. In other words I am willing to be patient for high quality and a good yield.


I am considering the following strains:

Sativa dominant hybrid - Delicious Seeds – Cotton Candy

50/50 hybrid - Bomb Seeds – THC Bomb*

Strong Indica - DNA Genetics - LA Confidential



A 50/50 mix is a guess for the THC bomb. The best info I can find is “Indica/Sativa Mix”.



Before I invest my hard earned dollars I would like to hear from anyone with experience with the above strains. I am also very interested in hearing about the best strain you ever grew and am open to any alternative or additional strains that you may suggest.

I had just suggested this to another member but as far as Im concerned Cinderella 99 is the best all around strain available. Other strains have qualities similar to Cindy, but no other plant combines all of these qualities into one strain. The high on it is awesome, it smells great, yields well, the structure of the plant itself is good, and it can finish in 7 weeks. The creators of Cindy called it the "Holy Grail" in terms of cannabis standards, and I would very much agree with that statement. LA Confidential is a solid choice for a strong indica but for your 50/50 hybrid I would choose Jilly Bean/Agent Orange or potentially an OG hybrid just to mix it up a bit. Also remember that LA Confidential grows and yields like shit, quality of the finished product is killer tho

can you ever get the real cinderella 99 anymore? not the back crosses and attempts to recreate them from the same parent strains.

Thanks for your input and I really appreciate the info on the yield for LA Confidential. I will look for another alternative. I am also glad that you mentioned Cinderella 99 as well. I just picked up some Cindy 99 seeds from BC Bud Depot, but had a somewhat frustrating experience with them due to some unpacking issues. You can read about here if you like - My experience with BC Bud Depot. (I am going to germinate all of the seeds this spring, put them outside and hope to sort them out then...)

To mrblu....as far as I know the closest thing you can get to Cinderella 99 is either from Mosca or Dr. Greenthumb. Greenthumb charges up the ass for seeds so fuck him, but Mosca's Cindy 99 BX is actually two different inbred lines of Cindy backcrossed to try and lock down the pineapple pheno. Obviously some pheno hunting would have to be done but Mosca seems hella solid for a Cinderella representation from seed.

I wouldn't say LA Con yields like shit, but it definitely requires some serious veg time if you want a decent yield. If you flower it as soon as you see preflowers, you will harvest a tiny plant, but she does have a pretty quick flower cycle once you induce, so that makes up for it a bit when running from seed, when running from clone she is a perfect SOG plant. It is extremely dank, though.

To Keizer...In all honesty I have heard so many horror stories from BCBD I wouldn't consider them a legitimate source of information on any level. That's just my opinion but if you do alittle research you will find countless stories similar to yours. Like I said look for Mosca's Cindy if your BCBD seeds don't work out, otherwise I absolutely love Apollo 13 from TGA, not exactly the same as Cindy but very close, same thing with Galactic Jack from TGA

Lol, live and learn brah. It took me four years of growing to figure that out and I still get bitten in the ass on occasion. FYI, DO NOT buy any grow equiptment off of the internet that is not also sold at Hydro Shops. Based on my experiences, even after heavy research, that 80% of that shit is fucking garbage

Hey Clankie or anyone who knows, I was looking at this strain and it says it should be pre-vegged. What the hell is that, just running them well past preflower before going 12/12?

I spent a fair ammt of time googling the term and most nobody knew what it meant, and those that claimed they did did not agree on what it was Can someone explain what it is?

It just means you need to vegetate the plant for a good amount of time before flipping to 12/12. Some strains only yield decently when given time to develop a large root system.

Thanks man, been doing that all along and did not know it! It's not an intuitive term, should call it Extended Veg or something.

if you have the room for reg's i think TGA's strains are very unique and look amazing. i think im going to start switching to all TGA gear over the next year and start new moms each year i just started some querkle. if everything works out with that il be adding in atleast 1 more TGA strain this year.

Best Sativa - Purple Cindy - HighGrade. Trippy laughing high, highly potent, 11 + week flower, vigorous cloner and grower. good yield
Hybrid - LA Woman - DNA - Potent/Dense/Resinous buds, 9 week flower (Confidential pheno), vigorous cloner and grower. avg yield
Indica - Anesthesia - Pyramid - Extremely Potent, Densest buds I've grown, vigorous cloner and grower. good yield

Overall Best - Anesthesia

Best of all time, ever, ever was early 2000's vintage Shiva from Nirvana. Their gear has always been dodgy BUT I have never had anything like it. If you were in Lawrence back in the day you may know what I'm talking about. That stuff had no ceiling and you never gained any tolerance. Dense, gooey, 60 day flower, gram per watt in SoG from clones (no veg).

i did a run of Thc bombs. stout plants, great yield. but this shit smells like a skunk that got run over in the desert on a hot summer day,a phresh filter didn't help the smell. my wife loves this stuff though. she said its a very relaxing high/ couchlock effect. it really stinks though. i can smell it when she breaks a nug up for her bowl in another room. hope this helps
