You no longer have the legal right to pay a person X dollars below an arbitrary number picked by an appointed burecrat even if you and the other person agree.

It is an infringement of the liberties of both parties.
what is a burecrat and why are you giving so many likes to the resident white supremacist lately?

I click like on the posts I like...

Shocking, I know...
and you just so happen to like the posts from a white supremacist where he says gays have a mental disorder.

but you're totally not a prejudiced bigot and racist.

well, if congress would like to do it's job, but they won't..with no re-election looming..i hope he does it up and does it right!..the dollars will only go back into the economy.
I really hope he does it. He'll be the first president to get ejected from office. Bring it!

why do you so voraciously attack el tib but then say nothing to bignbushy, who is an actual white supremacist and not just trolling?
I wouldn't call my attacks on El Tib "voracious". I said he was a sock puppet troll and I mostly ignore him. Like NLSX, I "like" the posts that I like, though I might not agree with every sentiment.

Unlike you, I am not trying to censor, silence or ban anybody because of their thoughts or words. Tolerance... you ought to actually try it instead of just lecturing others about it.

so you say that gays have a mental disorder, and then you accuse me of intolerance?

i am pretty intolerant of braindead, bigoted assholes like you.

being gay is not a mental disorder, but belief in skewed polls and landlocked iran sure is an indicator.
I didnt say gays had a mental disorder. Although I do believe they are flawed.

It does not mean that I dont tolerate them.

Have another beer buck... I dont want to get in the way of your alcohol fueled temper tantrum here on the forum so I will check out for a while.

Later maybe the adults can continue the conversation...

there is a little known law called the Fair Labor and Standards Act..why?..because employers* can't be trusted to "do the right thing"ie; sweatshops and child labor.

Congress has no obligation to do anything. Under the United States constitution, congress is the preeminent branch of government, clothed in the greatest and most significant powers, because it is closest to the people, with the house being elected from local districts every two years.

Congress is doing its job. They can make as little or as much new law as they like, and the voters will hold them accountable. If the voters want congress to alter the minimum wage, they must elect representatives who will vote to alter the minimum wage.

Are you claiming Obama is the first president to use an executive order?
I think there's confusion here. When people talk about Obama raising the minimum wage by executive order, it relates solely to federal employees and federal contractors. Obama has no right to unilaterally raise the federal minimum wage for all workers, which is what is implied in the original post. That action would be a gross violation of the constitutional order and blatant abuse of executive orders.

The White House has backed itself away from the idea of using an executive order for federal workers, let alone proposing to use an executive order to unilaterally raise the executive wage for everyone. I assure you they agree the latter would be an unprecedented violation of the separation of powers.

So you acknowledge and support that Congress is stonewalling government progress. Good to know.
