I don't wanna poke holes, but salt water boils at more than 5 degrees farenheit more than tap water. It's weird how complex things are if you're looking at them through a microscope, but where's the reset button?

Actually, I was about to write a thread about this. I was pondering all the strangeness of our world and how some say it's all a simulacrum.

Anyways, there's a lot more evidence for this.

Our incredible intricate bodies that have a billion systems that help check and balance one another?

Consider the issue of psychics and telepaths. It's usually the first sign when they can tell the future or see the past. If time is like that, with everything stored up for reference, then doesn't that point to manufacture?

Why do we humans have such an uncanny love of order? Mathematics, surveys, statistics, etc.
If, like the Christians say, we were made in our maker's image, then maybe we are just automatons that sprang forth from Adam's geometric loins.

Why does our environment have systems that we humans, who are supposedly in the dark about everything, can actually see and document and put names to?

how are you lonely

yes, every science we study is perceived, and so for us, we study what we perceive, and therefore everything is perception (this is a technicality that no one can really argue).

as a student of science (studying engineering) i have to believe in my profession, but i still think of these things. we "must" have a creator is actually not a must. it may, or may not be true. as for the creation of life, as long as there is nothing else that we can perceive that comes up, i believe that it did happen by random, and that is why life in our viewable universe is so rare and hard to find: because it happened by random. billions of years ago, some molecules got together and a certain combination of these molecules created life. RNA OR respiration was synthesized completely randomly, and more and more molecules got together RANDOMLY to create multi-cellular life.

this, for me, means essentially that if one of these random variables had gone another way, we would not be here. at least in the form we are now.

as for the five senses, yes, that is human (biological). but physically (physics), there are animals that can detect electric current, magnetic fields, and infrared/ultraviolet photons.

but what you say (we are just programmed), or what i say (random, but truth, not programmed) can not be proven or disproven. so theres really no point. and while i say that everything happened by random, i still BELIEVE that we could still be "programmed".

sometimes i get bored and think of these things, the size of the galaxy, and think how pathetic humans are even tho we think that we are the shit. but on the weekends i still like to inhale/injest certain chemical inhibitors that turn off the brain and party

a better question i think is that would you rather be born really really ignorant and be blissfully happy in your own little bubble/world of ignorance (ignorance is bliss), or would you be born aware of some of the extreme shittiness of this world and risk ending up being very cynical. awareness with potential sadness, or ignorance with garuntee'd happiness.

the most common thought shared by those with "faith". (i use quotation marks because i find it funny that type of person needs a reason to believe in the big guy in the sky. faith doesnt involve reason or proof, by definition)

not that i'm grouping you in with the cults or anything..

the point i want to bring up is that people often look at things backwards with the whole form/function situation. things are the way they are because that's the only way it could have happened. ie- we breath oxygen because we evolved/adapted to that atmosphere. the sky looks pretty because we grew up to appreciate it

one explaination for this is that the particles dont just exist in our universe, they sort of flicker in and out of existence in other parallel universes....theoretically there is an infinite number of these parallel univerese each with its own law of physics, and each a little bit different, since there is an infinite number it is thought that any imaginable reality exists in one of these infinite universe...a universe where you werent born, a universe where gore beat bush, a universe where hitler took over the world...now that is some trippy shit

Like many people, sometimes I like to think about the universe, and reality in general. I was having one of these conversations a few weeks ago, and I was all smoked up and telling a buddy of mine that eventually humans could travel far enough around the universe to put the pieces together and get some kind of picture of why we are here, and what the universe is, was, or will be.

This is of course debateable. My friend's response was short and to the point. He said this:

" In order to understand what the universe is, we must first understand what we are, and how much of the picture we are really seeing."

It took me a few seconds to really see the simple genius in his statement. But I understood what he meant, and I have added this thread of understanding to my search for the answer to the question of a lifetime.

i saw a video that vaguely described the 10 dimensions of string theory that referenced that. it kinda referred to choice being the 5th dimension of spacetime. i guess you'd have to call it something different than spacetime, but yeah. been a little while since i seen it though, if anybody knows what i'm talking about shoot me a link, i think i'm remembering it wrong

it'd be my guess that fate is concrete and time is infinite. like all of existence fallows a path from the "birth" of energy to the inevitable universal heat "death". all life dies out, perception that we know of disappears and an almost parallel universe (i hate that phrase. if there were to be a truly parallel universe it would be exactly the same as this one) is "born". because of the spiral nature of fate (1:

) the new universe could be damn similar to this one, but it would have to be at least a little different. the "first" universe chills (unintentional pun) in the background of the new one, acting as a skeleton of sorts. the shit that holds us together but our perception wont ever be able to pick up on because it was around before us, so no matter how fast we expand in power (for the lack of a better word) almost all of us will never catch up and perceive it. even those with amazing spiritual strength and intuition cant do anything but experience that shit. we can only try to be "aware" of ourself being it (experiencing divine presence, achieving bodhi, etc)

eventually the backbone universes regain energy when it's their turn again, laying on top of the universes that just went through the heat death. this could happen over and over again, slightly different universes happening over and over. same shit happening each time except for a slight change. the changes would be drastic if you skip ahead many generations, eventually you reach the same universe you started with again

that describes one timeline, of course nothing discredits the idea of more than one timeline existing at the same time on a higher scale. one would be slightly further to death that the other though. truly parallel universes would be indistinguishable from one another

like the reports of scientists viewing one object existing in more than on place (in test labs, quite small objects. still viewable to the naked eye though) it isn't really the same object, because part of what defines an objects nature is its location

all the parallel universes would make up the the particles of other near-carbon copy universes of a higher/smaller scales of near-inverted properties. they would act as the dead backbone to the bizzaro realms inhabited by beings sustained by all that kills them

i'm burning out. losing ground in my own mind. been a while since i got out a good rant. i've shat out enough to believe that thinking like this always turns out this way. existence/reality probly acts the same way. beginnings are usually obvious but endings tend not to be. shit just fades until it loses the attention of those perceiving it. quite possible the dead sneak around, later assumed to be new

many people believe that differentiating ourselves from what we look at to be a wall in opening our minds. the only lines of separation that exist are products of perception. not "real". disacknowledge these lines and you can quickly imagine a universe of infinite nature, which clears up alot of confusion that most people run into when "thinking deep"

the big picture is too big to see. you can only experience it. let go of perception and BE the big picture at the same time as everything else. the big truth explains itself. just takes alot of patience for some people to get it

i guess YOU can't experience IT, by definition of the words. this shit gets into the inexpressible realm that most folks believe to be bullshit. if you just let go of things and stop entertaining the constant need of reflecting on your experiences it happens. you experience it the way you experience your foot (best i can describe it). not looking at your foot..

I think it was in "what the bleep do we know" where they talked about the native americans when columbus first arrived. Apperently they didn't see the ships just the wake in the water. the shaman seen them, can you imagine the status he would have gained when he says there will be huge canoes landing on shore in the next few days. reminds me of stories from the bible.

The movie says it something to do with conditioning. Those ships were something they had never seen or heard of before so their brain couldn't grasp it. I found that part kinda cool. So what did the shaman knowsee that they didn't?

Perception through the senses is a subjective experience. What you perceive is your own personal reality. What "I" perceive is mine. It is possible to experience reality objectively. You can experience reality without your senses. You do it through intuition. This is knowing without the analytical mind. It is pure perception. All you have to do is change your consciousness. There are many paths. All of them lead to the same end.
