Hey NorthofEngland,
Pretty nice set up you got there! I don't think the 12in is too big and I'm venting/cooling my hood with a 6 in and it keeps my temps pretty stable. Now, in the summer, it's a different story. Two things I plan on adding is an A/C unit and a dehumidifier. My humidity was an issue this past summer but because I was in the tail of of my grow, I never bothered buying one as we were approaching fall.
I will be more than happy to upload some pics. I have 3 HUGE females in the tent now all supercropped so I have a nice even canopy. I do need to remove the fan I have in there now as it takes up too much space. I'm currently mobile but I will upload some photos a little later today.
Hi JG
(Nice moniker, btw. I am also a Five Families follower - over 300 books about OC in my collection).
3 HUGE FEMALES
Do you know their strains?
A/C
In the UK A/C is seldom used.
We have a short. mild '
warm' season
(it's usually not very warm).
During the 12 hours of lights off if I turn down the fan speed - the RH goes up.
Turn up the fan speed - Temps drop too low!
So I monitor levels and try to find a compromise
I need one of those FAN SPEED CONTROLLERS with Thermostat and Humidistat.
Maybe in two crops....?
Saturday I am moving the 9 flowering plants into the 8 x 4 tent
(that's the WILMA BIG 9)
and putting my WILMA 20 in the 4 x 4 tent
but, probably, the propagator will stay under light for another few days...
My cuttings were taken 8 days ago and, although I cannot see roots, they look healthy
LIKE MINIATURE PALM TREE'S!
I uploaded pics of them taken at 5 days
i'll add more at 10 days and when they're in the 6.5litre pots of Clay Pebbles.
I'm going to document ALL this grow (from cuttings to harvest)
that way anyone can offer advise, constructive criticism or unrestrained praise....
12" FAN
8 X 4 X 6' (2.4 X 1.2 X 2.0m)
2.4 x 1.2 x 2.0 = 5.76 metres cubed
5.76 x 1.25 (this equates in a 25% flexibility (or an allowance for error)
= 7.2 (this is the amount of air that the fan must exchange EVERY MINUTE.
7.2 x 60 = 432 m3/h (metres cubed per hour).
*8"RvK A1 750m3/h
8"RvK L1 950m3/h
*12.5"RvK A1 1300m3/h
12.5"RvK L1 1800m3/h
*I have these fans
(L1 is LONG)
I also have my 6"RUCK which is the only one bought new.
So I need a fan that can handle 432m3/h and I have one that can do up to 750m3/h and one that can do 1300m3/h.
But dispersing heat takes more capacity
AND I will use a cheap dimmer switch as a fan speed controller....
It's ALWAYS better to have more suction than you need, than to need more suction than you have.
