SO...I watched the episode of sout park when they make fun of Japan for killing whales and Dolphins...but really...why? I think they are the only big government in the world that pretty much kills them. So what's up with that? Drug deal gone bad? Gang war? Dissed them? Sold them fake coke? Lol...

no offence but your sounding like an american lol Japan is nation located on an island an island in which %73 of all terrain is mountains so traditional live stock fields like we have here are impossible to have so they turn to the sea and eat the sea equivalent

You ever eat some tuna that's especially good and wonder if it's some dolphin that's giving it that extra kick?

No offense but you sound like a condencending doueche lol. I understand that, but most nations of the first world consider these endangered species so do not harm.

And I understand that most of the world sees Americans as fat and stupid and we stereotype...but you stereotyping us makes you no better. I don't insult your nationaility I expect the same respect. I just inault your obvious lack of manners lol.

You formed an opinion after watching SP?
I knew about this from the show Whale Wars before thst but the signs always said "SCIENTIFIC RESESRCH" on the Japan ships as they run over the bodies covering it from the cameras. I was just wondering if they honor endangered species or if it's just "if it taste good, eat it ftw" and is it legal under Japan and UN laws?

On one hand, it is traditional. One the other, they are a rapacious culture (now far exceeded by the Chinese). There must be traditional or cultural reasons by I am no expert on these. I vaguely recall an explanation that had to do with their religious beliefs vis a vis eternity and conservation.
It has always disturbed me that the last breeding pair of any species of pretty much anything edible will cause a bidding war in most of Asia.

Put at least they are not being allowed to hunt them to extinction like they can with many type of fish. Not to mention the rhinos, tigers, several types of rare deer, several species of bears, snow leopards and elephants. Somebody send these people some Cialis, please.

Uh, that whole last bit was not aimed at the Japanese. They mostly just rape the sea - but they do it world wide.

Very informative! Thanks!

I understand this whole poat sounds like me being "American" or un sensitive to Japan but that is not true. I just am curious if or how they honor endangered species and laws.

And the incredible growth in the population of Japan has caused them to extend their traditional fishing fleet to all corners of the globe in the last 30 years decimating population after population of 'protein from the Sea'? My butt it did. And are you really saying that the Japanese cannot used advanced cultivation techniques to create food? On this forum? Energy and population decline are their problems.

They like to eat them fishies. Fishes what they like to eat. They bite their little heads off and nibble on their tiny feet. And they are not alone in this. The US fishing fleet has a bad track record too - but better.

Now if you care to make a generalization about sounding like an American, I might even agree with you. But you neeeeever quite got to one. Typische Amerikaner

Well if you are looking for a far worse culprit, you won't have far to go on a globe.

Did you also see the part in that episode where they talked about the hypocrisy surrounding americans mercilessly killing other animals. 5 billion pounds worth of cow a year from McDonalds alone. At least those whales had a decent life, not enslaved and tormented all their life before hand

Beat me to it..
As someone who enjoys a good steak, or bacon, or a burger, or or.or, who am I to put down someone for eating a whale over say a cow or a pig?
An animal is animal after all right? And I'll be damned if some animals aren't tasty with some ketchup or BBQ sauce on them, slow roasted on a spit all day .. omfg, get in my belly..

Well, a cow isn't endangered for one. Though neither are the whales being hunted. I have watched Whale Wars, I root against them both. The crit is a valid one IMO.

But I keep a rhino in my garage and guard him with a gun.
