Hello,
I have readed alot for my first grow, i guess i'm finished and can start growing, now i'm looking for equipment. Im from EU, and will buy everything from ebay.co.uk i guess (maybe you can offer any other websites for eu growers?). My budget is 600-700EUR, about 1000USD. I wonder if i would better buy LED setup or HPS/MH?

For LED lights i would use this 600w LED Grow light: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/600W-LED-Grow-Light-IR-Full-Spectrum-3W-Veg-Flower-LED-Hydroponic-Pro-Lamp-Panel-/261352636883?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Feeding_Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item3cd9d4c1d3
This grow tent: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120-X-120-X-200-Grow-Tent-Bud-Room-Hydroponics-Box-New-/110684062330?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Feeding_Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item19c548c27a
Carbon filter/fan/duct kit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-In-Line-Fan-Carbon-Filter-Duct-Kit-Hydroponic-Grow-Room-Tent-Ventilation-/380742548034?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Feeding_Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item58a6063a42

Other miscelenious things i will buy in my country.

Also i'm looking into this complete 600w HPS kit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grow-tent-120-Grow-Light-600w-Extractor-Fan-Kit-Feed-complete-set-up-kit-/251100464532?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Feeding_Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item3a76c10594

So could anyone give me any advices? :)

for a ~4'x4' tent you could do a 1000w easy. You could always get the led and the 600w/1000w and use both to get stellar buds. get atleast a 6" fan

I's still go the HPS way tho, if you can afford the power use, go the 1k or 600w digital light that goes Mh/hps is best

When I asked the question about complete grow kits everyone recommended that it'd be cheaper to get the pieces separately

Yes, i'm now looking around at one shop, trying to build my own kit, the shop is from netherlands, but i think the prices is abit high.

it normally is a bit cheaper seperate, when they bundle stuff they also bundle the price. That bundle looks alright except for the reflector, your going to want an aircooled hood/tube. you should really use other sites other than ebay for good deals.

A dimmable ballast gives the best of both worlds.
I use a 1000w dimmable Lumaek.
600w, 750w, 1000w or even 1100w
MH, HPS or Dual Spectrum lamps.

Personally I will not change to LED's until the technology is far more stable.
You don't get the same answer twice, when asking about LED's.

LED technology is still quickly evolving, your "newest" and the" best" Led panels will become obsolete in days or weeks.
Unless you have too much money to spent, or your power is so expensive that leds will return your investment quickly I'd stay with HID proven and affordable.

I actually think LED's are starting to become stable. When commercial growers use them for grows, its something to consider. You just need the start up money which will be reflected on your light bill.

If you want the best ballast on the market (tested against the other big named ballasts and came out on top) go with solis tek ballast

Lumatek 600 w Complete with ballast/reflector/wires - 238eur (For start, later i think i will take 1 more)

Just make sure the reflector is air cooled. You will need it. Also, the initial investment for 1000w and 600w ballast are basically the same, so if you can afford the additional electricity (which is minimal anyway) get the 1000 hps.

the fan controlleris intended for if you take air in from outside your grow with too low of a temp for it to stay on constantly. IMO , designed for greenhouses or indoor grows with fresh outside air

a variac controller is the best controller to get, but a speedster worked for me. You will hear a dull humm when you slow the fan down, I wish i saved for a variac

the reason i'm mentioning this , is if the fan controller shuts off all night in a sealed room, you're suffocating your plants. A second fan would need to be added to ensure the 3 refreshes/min or whatever

I agree with a 600w being better, 600w's out perform 1000's in lumens per watt if you look it up. Also since you'll have two lights you get more coverage , with less heat problems (IMO)

you may want a pre-filter for the fan, to make the carbon last longer. Also only run the filter during flower, the humidity in veg can clog the pores of the active charcoal a lot faster

consider getting a digital ballast that could do two lights, to save money on the 2nd 600

Is grow area already concealed with a light barrier from veg/flower?

Just for starters, to maybe save u some coin, try piecing things together yourself, and salvaging whatever you can to cut costs.
I don't know if where you are is legal, so i will be making my advice based on absolute stealth.

1st, lights... Complete light cool tube with MAGNETIC (stealth, no RF interference) ballast 1k set up easy 250 usd.
2nd AIR... FANS, as many as possible, and an inline with ducting to get heat out, 150-200 usd.
3rd AIR CONDITIONING, as much as you can unless you are in a cold climate, then you should be ok. ??? usd.
4th grow medium, nutes, ph tester, pots, yada fucking yada.
5th Additional light for veg area when you determine which of your plants are female, if wanting to go the ez clone route. its easy to clone... Don't be scared.
6th for stealth, you will need all of the following possibly... cardboard, wood, dry wall, duct tape, rope/twine, various tools, etc...

But this is all a good starting point, but first of all, you need seeds. If i were you i would try a bag seed grow first, and after a couple grows, and some trial and error. You will know what to do in certain situations. Then, get good genetic seeds. But if you have not had catastrophe like light failure, bug infestation, electrical failure, wait till you have some notches on your belt before throwing away 100 usd on 5 seeds to kill and disappoint yourself with.

First grab a few cfl's and stick some germinated seeds in a few solo cups and see if you need to worry about the rest lol. You can easily add on as you need, like i did. But make a mental note that over the next 6-12 months atleast, your pocketbook WILL be burdened, growing babies is not cheap.

1 x Philips Master Son-t Pia GreenPower 600W
1 x Xtra CoolTube 125 mm Reflector
1 x Digital Timer STEP 1min
1 x Electronic Ballast Sonlight 600W HPS/MH
1 x Complete cable Kit 80+200cm Schuko Standard
1 x Mylar - Diamond reflective sheeting 5 x 1,3mt 0%

12,5 CM 1 x BLAUBERG BI-Turbo 12,5cm + cable - 280m³/h + thermostat
1 x CAN-LITE Carbon Filter 300m3/h + Flange-12,5cm
1 x Flexible Ducting aluminium diam. 12,5cm - 10mt

If that bi-turbo is decent for pushing in/pulling out you can use positive or negative pressure to suck in, or push out with just the one fan. (like if your sucking from one side of cool tube, out the side and out of the box, all you should need is a low hole that air can come in from and the pressure caused by pulling air out, will in fact cause suction near the in/hole that draws air in, as well.)

Yes start small and buy as you need dont think your not going to have problems and everyones own way is not your best way start small work up and do what is best for you filters are needed but can wait until flower like stated above. Take your time water when your plants need water dont follow no schedule as it never works and do what the plants want not cause you think they need. Goggle/bing any problems or anything you want to no use multiple sources and not just riu
