Yes, but your rates are doubled during peak hours when you opt for this. It would be great for a single guy that's at work all dayIf you are a DTE customer you can save money by running your lights btwn the hrs. of 7pm to 11am. between these hours they are getting the lowest demand, which means they are selling for cheaper.
I've checked in to this with DTE. Unless the lady I spoke with is mistaken, you need a smart meter with a timer installed which can monitor peak/off-peak usage. The rates are 50% lower during off peak hours, and 50% higher during peak hours.Electricity at those times is cheaper, you don't have to be part of a plan
