Show me your AREA 51 nugs!

Hey guys,

I haven't seen a whole lot of final (dried and cured) nugs up for review after using an AREA 51 LED. I'm real particular about my nugs, and I am partially concerned with some people saying LED grows can produce "airy" buds. From what I gather, it doesn't seem to happen every time, and therefore I don't think it's the LED causing the problem for people. However, I would just like to see some pictures of final nugs from an Area 51 LED, if you guys have any!

I've heard both sides of the argument, but please let the buds speak for themselves.

This way we can start a compilation of pictures and end the conspiracy that good quality LED's produce less dense buds, and I will feel no skepticism with my purchase!

^ There is at least 5 or 6 A51 journals just on this 1st page, just scroll down and read thru them.

Cheers. :peace:

There are area 51 journals yes, but if you read any part of my post you'd realize that i'm not asking for journals. I'm asking for pics of "final nugs", dried and cured, off the plant, ready to be smoked.....

I'm asking for pictures of NUGS, so that I can make a comparison like this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OthslhH45QY

I'm not looking for current plants, or grow journals....I've already tried looking through them and a lot of times after 15-50 pages of reading, there aren't even any decent nug pictures, especially not great looking ones that I've seen produced from area 51s. I'm not doubting the lights, i just want to see some nug pics bro!

Here's a pic of some Violator Kush grown directly under an A51 SGS-160 during my round before last. Later on I'll post some pics of this last round's Jillybean.

Great pics guys and the buds look frosty as all hell.

Here's an example of some really flavorful, dense, and just all-around great smoke I have obtained in my area:
20140115_193800.jpg
Now I have no idea how the nugs were grown, but it does appear to have more of a denseness and compactness to the nug when compared with any of the pics I've seen thus far. Do you think this is due to drying/curing methods or the LED?
I want to make sure I can accomplish buds like this with an area 51!

^^^^^^ can tell you most of the pics you have seen on this thread are rock hard. The pics looks much higher quality than the commercial bud you are showing.

its mostly depends on strain and environment. If temps are to high or too much light bleaching, or too much humidity buds can be airy.

I don't know how you can tell the differences of density by pics.

I think u should first grow with a HPS light, learn how to grow because by the sound of it, you dont know that much about weed and will most likely not grow great weed the first couple cycles and will most likely blame it on LEDs if you go with them.

The bud you are showing looks like typical commercial weed, it actually almost look like it had botrytis on the inside (a type of mold) and in my pics, a lot of the colas were bigger or as big as this one when dried, did you see the picture with the plant and the beer bottle? Some of my flowers are denser than anything I have ever seen grown by anyone.

by the way bud density has nothing to do with the size of the buds. .. personally I much prefer medium sized nugs that are covered with resin!

hyroot you like it before I uploaded the pics haha, too bad the Like it more now button isnt there :eyesmoke:

GreenSanta, so because I need experience I should waste my money on something I will end up replacing so that I don't blame the technology you prefer? ...I don't think so. I have lots of reason for preferring an LED, including the low heat production and low energy use.

I can assure you the buds I'm smoking most certainly do not have botrytis. I don't know what the fuck "commercial" means, but I'm sure as fuck not a hipster when it comes to weed. If someone grew a lot of weed with a great strain and did it right, what's wrong with that?? We don't talk "commercial" where I'm from and I'm the biggest connoisseur i know by a MILE.

Here's another pic of the same bud with better lighting because I don't want ya'll thinkin I smoke moldy buds:
20140115_204600.jpg

Although, GreenSanta those are by far the more compact buds i've seen this far.

Please keep in mind this is just MY taste. This thread wasn't started to thrash my preferred style of dried and cured bud- it was started to make sure I can accomplish the product I prefer with the equipment I'm going to buy.

no worries bud I just took it personal when you said none of the pictures we uploaded had compact buds and I simply disagreed and I know puffnuff also grows dense nugs because I have been following his work for a while... he once won the LED party comp competition!!

Not to be a dick, but I wouldn't WANT my buds to look like that (looks like ok stuff to buy on the street, certainly nothing to brag about.) The buds shown are "dense" but haven't been all compacted and handled by 10+ different people. I assure you that people wouldn't buy the lamps if they weren't producing high quality buds. I have other named brand lamps, and yes they produce, but they either draw 2x at the plug or have half the footprint.

Most (all) of the buds people have shown could be hacked to shit and vacuum sealed if that's the look you're going for... so to each their own and I wish you the best in your ventures!

Lol funny thread. My northern lights was grown led/plasma and its by far one of the dense herb i ever grew. My girlscout cookie was also grown under led/plasma and it came out 6/10 in the dense scale.

Thru out time i realized that its not about dense buds or loosed buds, because its all dank in its on way. (Assuming its properly grown/dried/cured)
If you are looking for dense herb, then i sugest u look for genetics that are dense. Ive grown dense herb in cfls! And ive grown loose herb with hps!

As for Area 51, obviously they grown dank herb, those pics and journals dont lie, beautiful pics growers

I hope Jeff and the other partners appreciate how much we have supported them during this time of communication difficulties. Having been a partner of several failed endeavors, I only hope they are all OK, and something untoward is not going on behind the scenes

I received 2 ufos from Jeff that they are not going forward with, but are doing an amazing job, so I am inclined to cut them some slack, but then I am not ready/willing/ and able to buy a light today. For you guys, there are options, but they are quite a bit more expensive. That said, their quality will pay for themselves over time, so... do what ya gotta do

I just mentioned it on another thread, but I'm not sure what the communication difficulties are. The first time I went to the website, I signed up for an account and got an email immediately. After I verified the URL here (because I somehow missed it in the sticky), I placed the order. I immediately received an email saying my order was received and would ship soon. The website had indicated the light was out of stock. It shipped two days later and I received an email with a USPS tracking number. USPS has my light and it will be here Tuesday.
