Obamacare is the best we could do with the Republicans in the house. Yeah most of us who support obamacare want the single payer public option
Cheesus, I'm going to have to call you out on this one. What you passed with without any republican votes. A public option would have passed without any republican support. If you recall correctly, you had a group of Dems that were fighting tooth and nail that abortions would not be paid for with public funds. Bart Stupak had to be bought off with kickbacks and promises of an executive order later. Some of your rock starts even left office voluntarily because they were sick how your party pushed through a bill. Nobody on your side really even knew what was in it, they were just going by what they were told was in it.
I remember the most telling part during the televised debates when Paul Ryan was asking Obama a specific provision in the bill. He opened the bill and read what he was asking about. Instead of answering, Obama went off and said (paraphrasing) what is that? why did you bring a prop, this is too important to play politics and you bring a prop. Ryan ignored the dig and went on to ask again and still received no answer.
I commended Ryan for his class at the time. I remember thinking, no you dumbass, this is not a prop, it's the friggen bill you are trying to pass.
I'd like to hear your theories how the bill would have been different if it weren't for republicans. What we have was 100% party line. With 100% party line, THAT party owns it.
