Although I'm nearly 6 weeks into flowering, I thought I might as well start a grow journal so that I can reference back to it during my next grow. This is my first try, and I'm pretty happy with it so far.
The details:
2 x Critical Kush by Barney's Farm
100% coco coir
600w (MH for veg, HID for flower)
General Hydroponics Nutes (Lucas 6/9 Formula) with tap water
Started using GH Liquid Koolbloom in week 4 of flower
Started in solo cups, transplanted to 5G smart pots
I put the seeds into wet paper towel on Oct. 6. On the morning of Oct. 9, they popped, and I planted them in solo cups of straight coco. I read a lot about not providing any nutes (many said not even in coco) until the second true set of leaves grew, and so I didn't. I saw them struggle and barely grow, yet I was afraid to provide any nutes because of everything I was reading online. Eventually I decided that it wasn't working and common sense told me they needed something to grow on, so I started with a 1/4 strength nute solution, and voila. Growth!
I don't have many pics from early on, because...those are boring. But I decided to mainline them right from the get-go, and so here are some pics of the main-lining from early on to when I flipped them to 12/12. I vegged them a total of almost 2 months...partly because of the ridiculously slow growth they experienced at first:
Before being topped:
Topped for 2 mains:
Topped for 8 mains (apparently I didn't take pics of topping for 4):
A few shots in veg:
Flipped to 12/12 on Dec.5:
14 days 12/12 (trimmed up a lot of the understory):
21 days 12/12 (the plants are developing very differently...noticeably different foliage/cola development):
28 days 12/12:
38-39 days 12/12:
And a few more from today...just to show the difference between the two plants. One has big colas that rise above the foliage, and the other...not so much. I mean, there's growth under as well, but they look very different. Wondering if it's a different pheno that just grows differently or if it's kind of a dud? I suppose time will tell:
All comments, questions & constructive criticism welcome! If you got this far, you deserve a medal or a cookie or something. Thanks for reading.
