Quitting Getting Drunk?

Personally, i drink just about every night. I get drunk, because i like to do it, it makes me feel good, not depressed. I start at about 9 or 10pm and end up going to bed around 2am, i don't go into work until about 4 or 5pm, and i never drink so much that i get a hangover. Usually 4-8 shots of 80proof vodka a night. The sex is better with my girlfriend, and i just plain like it. Eventually ill cut down, most likely when i have a kid, but as for right now i am having a good time with it.

Just as long as you can keep it under control and so long as it does not effect you, your social life, work, friends and family negatively, i see no problem with it. But as soon as someone you love brings it up to you as a problem, i would take a good look at yourself and the way you are doing things. They wouldn't bring it up if they didn't care, and didn't think it's important, not only to you, but to them.

Keep it under control. If it depresses you, don't do it. Try something else. We all need an escape from reality. Be it reality tv shows, video games, welding, carpentry, art, working out, boxing, snowboarding, skateboarding, skiing, cannabis, alcohol... whichever you choose just keep it under your control, do not let it control you, do not let it effect your life in a negative way.

That's my two cents. Hope it helps broman.

I hear and also firmly believe that exercise is the best medication against depression.
I would also have to agree with this too. I work out almost every day. Being overweight scares me, boy would that suck ASS. One of the most important things to me in my life is to be healthy and fit. To each their own though.

I was drinking too much. Then I grew out Sugar Punch and started using edibles. It helped a lot. The edibles really helped as I'd just chow them down when I felt like getting drunk and I'd get really baked instead. Did this until I stopped thinking about drinking mostly. Now I still use edibles but nowhere near as much as I used to drink. Maybe a couple times a week. Still smoking that good sativa though.

Cannabis can help lower your blood pressure as well, some varieties more so than others.

Exercise will help, but you need to stop drinking and I understand how hard that can be.

I don't think it defeats the purpose guys. Alcohol will literally kill you and rot you from the inside. It will physically destroy your body. Pot won't.
Yep, exactly. And it's no where near as habit forming. In fact in studies it's been demonstrated very helpful in weaning addicts off all sorts of drugs.

It can't hurt you to stop drinking. Personally I think alcohol should be made illegal. And yes, I'm aware that it will never happen. I just hate it. It causes too many bad things to be able to justify having it legal. IMO
Based on his description, probably not. However if he were a hardcore alcoholic cold turkey can in fact kill you. Shit is serious.

I agree that if any drug should be illegal, it would be alcohol, but I don't really agree with the basic sentiment.

Sounds like me about 7 years ago. You play with fire IMO. But I agree, we all need some kind of escape and so long as you keep it under control.

4-8 shots is quite a bit depending on your size though.

Have you gone a day without drinking recently?

Yes i usually drink 5 times a week, take 2 days off a week. 1 shot is equivalent to one beer, though.

yea man you booz you lose. Ive seen plenty of grown men that just look sad because of alcoholism.(not being able to talk or walk) Im kindof glad I saw it and realized it was in my genes, I quit drinking when I was 20 when it started to become a problem. Im sure I could go out and have a drink here and there but I don't. and when I quit drinking it was super easy to quit cigs. good luck mang
