I sometimes find myself agreeing with the right wing.

In my country the welfare state benefits system has been abused to ruination by lazy, sponging paracites.

But then there are the genuinely disabled who would be the innocent who are punished with the guilty.


My wife grew up in USSR Crimea and people could be imprisoned for PARASITISM for being late for work a few times
(But usually it was more about having something that made your superiors jealous - Attractive girlfriend).

part of the reason why our welfare system is doing it wrong is the way the system is set up. If a person wanted a job, went to the welfare office to sign up, the only help you will get is a handout. We need to provide a way for those who wish to be independent a system to become so. What we create is dependency.

welfare has a requirement to look for work, and they do provide you with tools to help find that work. everything from instructions on how to write a better resume to mandatory enrollment in a work match system.
