Got my 190 and I'm trying figure out this bloody hangar. Does anyone have a guide how to use it to hang the unit properly?
EH,And Surf.... You sure do complain a lot. Now you're crying about a hanging kit?
Surf, I do not know what your deal is.... First you complain about the 190 BEFORE you even got it. Then I gave you the option of returning it. You then went on a rant calling me "pretentious" and "pompous" because of the way I responded to you, which was just in defense to what you said. All I said was you can return the light for a refund and buy something else you would rather have.
You still have the option of returning it, no restocking fee or anything
To me it looked like you wish you would've went with the "MarsII", so I replied with:Yeah after spending countless hours scouring through multiple forums, I'm starting to fear I just paid double what I should have paid for my 3x3 tent. It seems like a whole bunch of people are killing it with the Mars II lights.
Other than warranty, I don't see why the A51 lights are double the price to cover the same footprint.
Mac vs PC?
Sure, it's short and straight to the point, but it is what it is, the honest truth, that you have the option to return the light.Ask A51 for a refund and buy a Mars II if you think they are better.
This was my reply to that, also my last reply to you, on 12/19/2014, A MONTH AGO:I don't think either is better, and never said that I did. I was hoping someone would explain why the A51 lights are double the price to cover the same-sized footprint.
EH, as your customer, that response was really not the kind I'd hope to get from the company owner. Comes off extremely pretentious. Would it not be more effective to explain the difference in value an A51 customer gets for the extra money? I bought your light mostly as a result of the positive feedback in this forum, and thus I'd imagine others may arrive here with similar questions. So it seems not in your best interest to make a somewhat childish response like that, and it isn't making me feel any better about my purchase. Is this just a fanboy thread where people are simply supposed to assume you are the God of LED, and not even fairly weigh the competition? Perhaps you'd rather not make this comparison?
Anyhow to get back to the pros & cons of each:
XGS-190 Pros
Lower Wattage?
USA-made Diodes
XGS ability to flip to flowering mode.
Augmented Optics
A51 uses lastest all-white XTE Cree bulbs.
A51 has lifetime warranty.
Gorgeous Photos under white light
XGS-190 Cons
Lower Wattage?
Higher Price
Lack of grow journals validating new tech
Unconventional coverage area (need 2 units for a 4x4 tent)
Pretentious owner?
TopLED Mars II 1200 Pros
Higher Wattage?
Lower Price
Claims to fully cover 4'x4' footprint
Can be custom-ordered with an A51 knock-off diode arrangement (possible cause of bitterness from EH?)
Several successfully completed journals validating the unit
TopLED Mars II 1200 Cons
Higher Wattage?
Hotter temps?
Flower mode only
Chinese made all-around
Ships from China
A51 config is a custom-order
Lack of augmented optics
Warranty? What warranty?

I'm not gonna dig through all of your more recent posts, but I haven't said anything in a month. YOU keep saying things, bitching about the hanging kit, calling me a Soup Nazi.Wow, someone is blowing what I said out of proportion...
Area 51 is not about high watts and low quality low performing low cost parts, there's a reason Top LEDs cost less. Area 51 is about high PAR, high quality high performing parts and low watts. Cree LEDs cost 3-4Xs as much as those no name Taiwanese LEDs. Of course the lamp will cost more. Do you go to a Tesla car dealership and cry about their $120'000 price because you buy a Chevy Spark for $25'000? Tesla uses more expensive parts and the price reflects on that. Area 51 uses more expensive parts, and the prices reflect on that.
As for Top/LG "copying" my spectrum from 2 years ago, good for them. They are just now catching up to what I did more than 2 years ago, they must be so proud.
If you unhappy with your purchase, which you do not even have yet, by all means you should return it. It's your money, buy what you want with it. But complaining on a forum for something you do not even have yet, then going on a little tantrum calling me "pretentious" when I suggested to return the light so you can buy something that you do want, it is silly of you. And honestly, I do not want your business.
Mad reading through all that, But Nice bit of Info Eraserhead..Anyhow to get back to the pros & cons of each:

I think we all have had enough of this^^^ topic.........just saying
Let's calm down and FORGET about it already......life is too short is exactly right!!
Peace brothers
With the slack, I tie it up on the carabiner hook. Then I retie all the other rope ends like little nooses. I weigh 265LBS and I have hung from 2 ratchet hangers, and they did okay. It passed the Ogre test.Skepticism is a far cry from misery. I'll remove my "troublesome and abusive" self from this thread.
Best of luck to you and your company. Hope you get your Tesla.
There's a lot to learn with LEDs. It's difficult for someone new to the scene to easily be able to know what's what. For every Hans or Apache, there's 20 Lush LEDs. (good guy bad guy ratio leans heavily towards the bad guys)I hung mine a little bit differently than that. I didn't use the larger clips or what ever they are called.
I don't trust those. If one knot comes undone, it falls.. I'm going to pick up chains this weekend.
Mad reading through all that, But Nice bit of Info Eraserhead..
Getting more & more Interested in LED Tech..
Peace
Actually, yes they are. They are within the UL guidelines, I just need to send them a light to get it certified. I just recently started looking into it.Well that's the problem friend^^^.....you cut back too aggressively on the alcohol !!
Be safe and get my "dream" panel in the works.......hurry hurry hurry......lol
EH are the lights going to get UL approved anytime in the near future?
Yeah the XGS-190 ships without any kind of proper clip to attach the hangers to. Have to use 4 hangers or devise your own clips. For $525 I was astonished there wasn't one in there.
The hanging kit that's included is exactly as it shows here:
And is hung as follows:
And Surf.... You sure do complain a lot. Now you're crying about a hanging kit? Most every other light sold comes with a cheap kit, I have one, here's a pic of it:

Tightpocket, you'd be doing yourself and garden an injustice by doing so.Wow..nice customer service. the guy asks a couple questions and the owner told him to basically go fuck himself. I have been considering buying an LED and now I can scratch area 51 off my list.
