ok I'm a little fuzzy on WHEN and what temperatures before "winterizing" or adding the Everclear (or ethanol).
so my idea of how the process goes:
have a hot water bath set up, with a glass pyrex on top. Blow the product into that pyrex as it's on top of a heating pad in a hot water bath. At what point do I add the Everclear to winterize???? I have read that you are to remove from the hot water bath, and then add Everclear, allow it to mix up, THEN place product in freezer, and then pour after 12-24 hours into unbleached coffee filters. Then you do a final hot water bath purge, and then vacuum oven to get shatter.
Please, I am a newbie when it comes to do this whole winterization process, and I just got a vacuum oven, so any tips would be amazing (or just leave the thread that I need to go to!)
Basic questions:
Should I blast into a pyrex dish that is in a hot water bath BEFORE adding Everclear (190 proof)?
When should I add Everclear into my blown product (after it's done with a hot water purge with no bubbling? or before I start any purging at all?)?
AFTER adding everclear and waiting after 24 hours in the freezer and AFTER pouring into unbleached coffee filters, can I do a hot water bath purge with my square pyrex that is another pyrex? Or should I only do the evaporation of 175 F on top of my boiling water?
Finally: After doing all that, scraping into my oil slick pad, and placing in my vacuum oven....how the heck do I get the shape of my oil into a square or nice form to manipulate after my shatter is done purging?
I know it's a lot, I just want to see if I can get any answers to help make a superior concentrate for me and my friends with my sugar trim
