What are some good strains for outdoors?

Hey everyone. Happy hump day. I plan on growing 2 plants this year outdoors. It will be nothing fancy. I will be using 5gallon buckets with fox farm soil. So I am looking for suggestions on what strain is good for my area. I live in northern california. I am looking for a nice yielding indica strain. So any suggestions would be great.

Try the Cherry Pie.. Easy to get, yields well outdoor, low mold, turns purple, better/great THC, smell is VERY strong, taste is obvious and profound, bag appeal is on-the-tops.. I would go with Cherry Pie as a native clone. Remember in Nor-Cal.. keep your roots cool.. If you were to put that 5-gallon in the ground and keep the roots cool, it will thermo-regulate the plant much better. A hot 5-gallon bucket in our NorCal sun can yield 1-3 ounces, I would assume. A large plant can't thermo-regulate in our sun much larger than that unless you cool the roots..

If you can keep your roots cool, you can grow an easy 16oz's per plant in a 5-gallon bucket. I have..

You might want bigger pots for more yield, but TGA agent orange was one I liked last year. Most of the strains that are available are indicas, so any one is good. I have DNA and TGA strains but for a yield I will have to set a drip irrigation system up again and leave it until mid or late September at least. I took it apart early last year because there was tubes and shit all over :cuss:. good luck.

dude.. Agent Orange rocks.. and it better than Jilly Bean i think! :weed:

Agent Orange is more sativa'ish and it can get real tall, still fairly dense, i never had an issue with mold.. the smell/taste/buzz/appeal, all on the tops, it's awesome..

is cherry pie a clone only? or can you buy seeds?

If you are in NorCal and you are MMJ with prop215, it should be no problem to get the Cherry Pie if you call a few clubs.. Be polite, some might not want to talk on the phone, ect.. If you looked at weedmaps.com , you should be able to find some local co-ops. Cherry Pie is making it's rounds and I think most people like it much better than any of the OG Kush variants, meaning, it's around and well known. :)

I actually have Cherry Pie bx2 in seeds now but I can't do anything with them but look. :weed:

I read that seedlings are 25% stronger than clone cuttings and that can make all the difference for outdoor grown plants.
Would you agree/disagree that growing from seed creates plants that stand a greater chance of success than planting cuttings taken from clone mothers????

I have noticed that clones lose strength after a while.. face it, cannabis plants are not genetically designed to live for decades. :)

However.. With healthy and fresh clones, I have noticed very little difference from seed and clone. I have seen outdoor clones grow 4lbs on a plant in my yard, the good side is that it could take $5000 in seeds to find your perfect clones from 20 strains. This is my mentality, get those clones and make your own seeds. I can tell you, most of the clones in NorCal are awesome.. Shit like "OG" with the sales pitch and Blueberry Kush, stay hell and gone from that crap.. you will be dealing with a shit-yield or a plant that grows and smokes like horse-hair.

I think if the clones are fresh, they are fine and I don't know about the 25% thing. If they are not fresh, fuck'em. :)
